Would not mind getting my hands on that...

Oh man, I wish I had the time to go up and snag some stuff. If anybody goes, I have a list of things I'd like to stockpile.

Never mind. I see where you saw it. I wonder if they have any Tacomas? Most of my 3FE parts came from Capitol. They always seemed to have a nice assortment of FJ62/FJ80s.

Would the luggage racks bolt into the same roof holes , on an 80 series? Mine were removed before I got it, and I would prefer to have them on my 80.

Jeff - I am out of town today but home tonight. I will check in with you over the weekend. I have a factory roof rack for my 80 that will likely never go back on my truck. We may be able to make a deal for you.

Evan- Great. We are out of town for a week or more. But I want to make a deal on that rack. My rack was removed and holes filled in with clear silicon . I hope those holes will take some screws to hold a rack. I already have Yakima clamp on towers for that kind of factory rack ,plus crossbars for accessories. We will be in town at the same time eventually. Thanks.

OK - let me dig around in my garage and pull all the pieces together. I will check in with you with a text.

The toughest part may be clearing the silicone out of the holes, but hopefully it kept the nut inserts from rusting at least. They are a pretty fine thread, and some trucks are in worst shape than others when the racks are removed, likely due to how much moisture they have been subjected to over the years. AFAIK, my truck was in NM most or aLl of its life, and the rack came off pretty easy and the nutserts were in good shape.

Might want to chase those threads with a tap to make sure they are clean.

Good idea the clean out those threads, pappy. Hate have to drill through the roof and use nuts on the nice inside ceiling.
Just joking.

i'm curious, why reinstall the factory bars when you have superior gutter clamps and the factory bar delete already?

I did not describe what I already have very well. I have 4 Yakima clamps that will attach to the stock 80 series type factory bars. I do not have rain gutter tower clamps. I can use the Yakima crossbars and attach a basket, bike carriers, etc to this set up. I agree rain gutter clamps are superior. I will go that direction if the roof holes turn out to be bad, as in threads are no good. I will have to get that silicon out and try the threads.

Are you looking for some rain-gutter clamps with cross bars? I have a set of Rhino Rack cross bars with clamps that I am willing to part with.

I'm not sure if that'll be worth your time, Jeff. CL has lots of towers for sale all day long. Most folks just close up them holes and forget about it!

I am still learning about all the different ways to do things on Land Cruisers. Thanks for all these ideas.
Questions, What is CL? Alia176, so you are saying forget remounting the factory rails, and just go with gutter clamps with crossbars?
That would be easier. I first thought about that route. I do not plan to leave the roof rack on all the time, just clamp on when I might need it.
Out of town, right now ,so will look at the choices when back in town.

Vince,
I might be interested in your Rain gutter clamps and cross bars. Will get back to you soon. Out of town right now.
Thanks

Of course, craigslist. I was looking for some special Land Cruiser site. Duh. Well I will check there, also. Anyway, that 100 in Santa Fe got me thinking about roof racks.
