Really?

Dirty?

That's crazy
It looks so even - like it's factory

And it puts out a lot more light than the chrome mirror one

So it's actually a good thing...
Thanks for the posts guys..
Is it just me, or does this area look more "chromed"/less "dirty" than the rest?

Also, by more light, is it actually brighter, or just more focused (as in the satin area isn't reflecting as much so the beam appears more narrow?)

The shiny chrome light is the one that appears brighter, not the dulled satin one.

The OP is saying that the dulled one puts out more light...odd compared to yours.

I'm wondering if Rob is on to something here. The dulled finish doesn't appear to be normal, so I'm wondering if the light is just getting focused more as opposed to actually having higher output...

Up close the satin headlight is creating more unfocused light, making a more spread pattern on walls, cars, signs etc. the new chrome one puts put a sharper light pattern with less spread. The satin appears brighter up close due to more light spread, but the chrome produces a much sharper long distance pattern.

Not bad in my books, but it's not ideal

is there any correlation between satin an glass? wondering if it put out too much heat when they switched to plastic. just a thought.

Hey Eric, if you can salvage one of the clear plastic parking light covers [far right/far left in your two pics respectively] from a damaged headlight I'll buy it instantly. I managed to melt one of mine while doing a projector upgrade.

Hi Schwein

Your best bet is probably just to buy brand new lights - you never know what you're going to get when you buy used ones - that's what happened to me... bought both from different online junkyards, got a satin from one place, and a chrome from the other.

APKhaos - sorry I don't have spare corner lights to sell you / give you...
Good luck finding a set.

Eric, I'm looking for the clear plastic condom that fits over the parking light. Was hoping it may still be intact on your otherwise busted headlight.
Its impossible to find otherwise.

APKhaos - I have a damaged OEM headlight I can't really sell and have no use for anymore since I upgraded to 2007 style headlights. The "condom" you need thankfully never broke (ha ha ha) on mine... In any event if you want this light for parts let me know... I'm in VA as well...

schwein - I also have a passenger side oem headlamp in good condition that I no longer need as well. If you are interested in it let me know. I haven't made much effort to get rid of this stuff but really can't use any of the old style lights now since my front end update...

I recently replace PS headlight with a re-manufactured. It's much shinier than my DS. I was thinking the DS just dulled and could possible benefit from a cleaning of the reflector. I'm looking for a replacement DS headlight lens in relative good condition, maybe I need the whole assemble in a chrome finish.

Do we have a part # for the different reflector shines?

I've only been trying to get those from you for 3 years
