I destroyed my bumper on my first trip. It still looks like ass too, I haven't bought my TJM yet!

I know I should have turned around and not used it, but I had a trailer on with a couple thousand lbs of brick on it that I didn't want to fool with. I'll see if it'll photorgraph. The plate with the hole in it on the drivers side was torn apart on one of the outings where I was hopelessly stuck and trying to get yanked out. It bent around the rear bolt head, then tore from that point to the hole, which then allowed it to bend forward and become useless. I replaced it but haven't used it much. The 5 I mentioned were all the hook thing with the loop of the strap on the hook. They've all broken at the bend. They usally just pop, but a one bent first. No injuries from any of it, just aggrivation, muddy floormats and muddy seats.

1. Why is that last bolt hole so close to the end of the bracket? Better extend the bracket a bit past the bolt hole.
2. What about making it out of Al, since stainless is probably too expensive? This would help us here in the rust-belt.
Let me know if you are having a hard time getting good quotes. We have a CNC mill at my work, and we could machine these pretty quickly. Machine is sitting idle right now. I can also do some FEA if required.
