i don't know

i guess i fly around arizona looking for dead people or at least almost dead people....

Started my own business 30 years ago. Importation and Sales of Fine Oriental Carpets.

These days spending half my time dealing with Lawyers/Trust Dept's./Accountants on estate work as an executor/beneficiary.

wow, so many people unhappy with what they're doing.... You either live to work, or work to live - but you get to decide which, and whether or not you think you'll have a good day or a bad day, you're almost always right...

I would say a few things... find what you LIKE to do and then be creative enough to figure out how to make money doing it... And if you are unhappy - no amount of LC mods will fix it...

me? I'm an author and a chemist, I sell cards to hallmark and crippling life long addictions to those with the cash to spend...

I work at home selling Audio/Video gear to Education and Government agencies. 11-year with the largest private A/V company in the US. I cover Southern AZ.

#1 seller of Data/Video projectors
DVD/VCR
Carts
TV's

Stuff like that.

Luv it. Set my own hours (within reason) and have my wife walking around the house in short shorts. Kidding! :D DAMN....Becky'd kill me for that statement!

I would have to say, one of the single most ingenious inventions I have seen is those "Penny Smashers" that are at all the tourist sites. No Inventory, no power needed, just go and collect money. And as simple as they are, I doubt they ever need repair.

You license the machine, and source someone to create the mold/templates for companies.

Genius

My profession is.... Hell, nevermind... I`m just a professional loser looking for attention.

Actually, other than the obvious (as stated above) I`m a burned out automotive retail/wholesale parts manager with over 20 years at my job, whose looking to get out of this God forsaken city as soon as possible and move to a rural area where I can live off-the-grid, grow my own food, tap my own water, and escape our hopeless society.

Gee.. Did I almost sound a bit cynical for a second there ?

X2. Oooo...maybe we can start a commune.

I am VP of Technical Development, which is akin to jack of no trade and manager of all of them for an engineering firm. Too much travel, not enough time to figure out what I really want to do. Sounds like a lot of you...

Maybe we should form a commune somewhere.

Theres are some pretty sweet off-grid 80 acre parcels pretty cheap only about 20 min out of town here. EZ access to 100's of miles of offroad. (base of cascade mtns)

Its funny you said that Spress, that is a running joke at my work ( 90% of them think I`m nuts )

Hey, the more the merrier ! I can see it now... a commune ready to defend itself with a fleet of 100`s ... Now we just need a couple of those sweet armored units with roof-mounted guns from the middle east to sign up :) !!

I think we`re on to something here !!

Thanks for the info ....I`m not 100% locked-in to Utah ( although I wouldn`t mind being part of the "Utah militia" when the $hit hits the fan in the not-so-distant future ;)

Any more takers in the IH8MUD commune ?

I'm in! I and several buddies have had similar thoughts and some serious planning sessions for many years (though more along the lines of bugging out if society collapsed tomorrow). This could be an interesting thread over in Chat. (Or maybe it should be taken private... ;)).

I can bring the big ex-military truck (UNIMOG). No electronics and it can be run off vegetable oil. It can also be armored up (and armed) very easily... :flipoff2:

Dclee , you and your buddies are smart guys...VERY smart guys !

Sooo... what else does any of our members (or lurkers just dying for a reason to join) do for a living ?

Thank God telecom is starting to come-back, because it's been brutal the past 6 years.

Won't ever be the way it was, though ;)

I fondly remember the hotties that would do anything to close the deal that CWUSA used to send out to me... sigh...

i used to be a software developer but am now a Solutions Engineer at the NAB where i look after the Internet Banking web site, application and database servers and all of our other websites and have been asked to look at cost saving initiatives. Bank speak for "save us some money".

I'm a Libran, drink too much Bourbon, beer, and love the outdoors and like blondes with big t**s...
