I'm in the process of a 1-ton build of my 40 and have one part left to decide on. Which wheels to use. I'll be using the 42" Pitbull Rockers and need to decide on a beadlock wheel.

Is anyone running Stauns on a 17" wheel with 42's? Any issue with the Stauns rotating? I've had that problem with Stauns and 37" and 39.5" tires. Just wondering if the additional weight/force of a 42" tire and V8 will make the Stauns not a viable option.

Any consensus on which traditional beadlock 17" wheel to use?

Thanks

H1 double-beadlocks from Trail Worthy Fab. You get a double-beadlock with bolts (not air like the Stauns) and they're fairly cheap.

The H1's are damn heavy. Mine with a 37 and cut down rubber inserts weigh 160# each. The creeper locks are a good deal, but I've heard of a lot of folks having issues with them. Broken hardware, rock rings and other problems.

They are heavy, I'll give you that. Broken hardware / broken rock rings will happen with any beadlock you run.

I am very happy with my Raceline Beadlocks.. I like the Aluminum Rings over the steel ones that a few friends have.

Either way, you will be having a lot more fun with the one tons!

Alot more fun, alot more down time, alot less wrenching on the trailer equals much better times...;) Not much tech there, but you will be more happy:clap:

Edit: nvm

But... Theres plenty of good threads on pirate about beadlocks. I'm glad I went with creeper locks still.
