Loud, are you running 315's? Did you need spacers at all with Tundra wheels?

oh, I didnt know you were swapping back and forth. The tundra hubcaps dont really want to fit on my truck either, so I decided to forget about them.

I got 8 wheels for 350!

Loud definitely wins the Tundra to 100 series wheel swap contest

Looking good Blair. 295's? did you lower the bump stops? Did you have to push back the corner of the fender? What about when is packed full of snow? That looks fantastic. Now that roof rack fairing... not so much. I know it works, but when the rest of your rig looks so good.

285/75/18 - Tundra wheels are same offset as factory 100 wheels.

This isnt a contest, but thanks. I DO win for picking the heaviest tundra wheel though :bang:

size above. I havent twisted it up offroad yet to see how it all really fits but I'll more then likely have to lower the rear bumpstops. Yes, I did bang that pinchweld behind the tire over (took longer to move the fender liner). And ya, I trimmed out the "bubble" of the liner. Havent had enough snow to really get it packed in there but last week I did get a decent amount in there and same as before, it just moves. Thanks for the compliments.

Ya, I know the fairing looks meh-but it does it's intended purpose. See you live in Colorado, I live in New York. So when I want to go somewhere in CO I have to drive 1800 miles first, THEN go there. You're pretty much there already so wind noise wouldnt bother you (plus wheres YOUR AO rack?) I want to get one laser cut and contoured to the roof, just havent had time to pursue that.

See ya in a week n a half!

OK photos - 18" Tundra Alloys. Basically bought them since the takeoffs (wheel/tires) were cheaper than 4 new LTXs on the 16" stock rims. Looks good tho, updates the truck and they ride better. They bolt up easy as stock - except the front center caps. Just follow Kyoso's write up.

You can see how the stock center caps protrude. Used the rear Tundra caps. Otherwise happy - hope this answers some questions about the Tundra 18's

fek that is shiny!! apart from that photo shoot, does it ever get taken out of your garage? :flipoff2: hheehe...just joking...damn nice LC you have there.
cheers

When I made this thread, I mounted the Tundra wheels with the stock 275/55/20 Bridgestone Duelers and I ended up getting 65k miles out of those tires. I finally needed tires and found a nice (unpassable) deal on some 305/50/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I expected to lift the truck soon but haven't yet. I had the Nittos installed today and to my surprise they fit really really well. The guy installing the tires test fitted just the fronts and we took the truck out on some larger rocks in the landscaping by his shop and flexed the tires as far into the wells as we could get. There is no rubbing lock to lock, even after a light trail test stuffing the tires into the wells on my own afterward I couldn't get them to rub. Just thought I'd post this incase anyone cares.

Very nice looking. Is there any way to massage the center caps that came with the 20s to fit over the grease cap?

Tires worked great, did a trailride the other night on Oso Mine trail off of the 4 Peaks road and did a pretty gnarly loop at the backside of it up some a steep and narrow trail, sharp loose rocks mixed with a lot of crossups from washouts on the trail. Great traction all the way through, absolutely no rubbing. No really good pics from the ride but trust me, it was beautiful. Arizona desert/mountains this time of year are something to behold.

In the process on a long sketchy climb I lost one of the center caps. It led me to modify the Tundra caps and heres how they turned out.

The front caps, I removed the "T" emblem and then dremmeled out a center hole just large enough for the grease cap to protrude through. I then polished the cap really well and put a few coats of clear over it.

Bonus pictures of a dude getting his Lambo impounded at the head of the 4Peaks road for some extreme speeding.

Do you think if you had mounted the TGs in a 305/55R20, they would rub? Basically the same width, but 33 inches tall instead of 32. To ask a simpler question, how much clearance is there at full lock/ compression.......im mainly concerned with the front, the rears on these things could eat a person.

BTW

The last picture made my day :D

Full lock and stuffed, you would probably get a little rub on the back side of the front fender until you wore them down a little. I could get it sooo close, but no contact. The extra 1/2" probably would have rubbed a little. Even so, it would be very minimal I think. Enough to where I wouldn't worry about it anyway. I really like the width, especially in the loose sand of the washes around here.

Thanks for the info......i love wide tires as well. Do you think a 12mm body lift (like what Loud and Spresso have) would prevent the rubbing?
