    Outdoors well.com?

Anyone have any experience with this online retailer. Their prices seem too good to be true. 5,000-Watt Super Quiet Gas Powered Inverter Generator Combination with Parallel Cord Edit: Looks like this thing is a scam.

    Hub question

Last night I finished rebuilding my knuckles with new seals and bearings from the inner axles seal back (including king pins). It all started because of a leaking inner axle seal. But the lower king pin bearings were scary. From now on I will be pulling a bolt on the lower king pin bearing...

Warn Old School Winch Clear Out

Cleaning the garage I realize I am not going to get to rebuilding the winches I have collected for some time. I got three Warn 8274s in various states of disrepair but I believe there is more than enough there to make a good one. I have never tried to run them. The drum plate is off two of...

Coleman 40W Solar Panel On Sale

I see Canadian Tire has the Coleman 40W solar panel on sale at a huge discount. At this price, if these are decent, I might get two of them. Anyone have experience with these panels? http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/coleman-40w-folding-solar-panel-0112043p.html#.U6XOvECiVSk

    Boring out hubs?

Anybody get a machine shop to bore out aloy wheel hubs? If so, how much did they charge per wheel. I got some stock 16" JDM LC alloys but the hub hole is a tad too small - about a 1/4 of an inch. I could probably do it with a router but would rather pay a machinist to do it if it isn't to pricey.

Spotted - Tsawwassen to the Island

Blew by a stock HJ81 today plotting slowly North on Hwy 99. I think it was grey but you know they all look the same in my rearview mirror. ;p The HJ81 did catch up to me at the Ferry Terminal Cashier Booth. I presume he was sent to be with the cars and I was sent to be with the real truck...

    Good-bye to fuel stoves

This looks like it could be the next revolution for camping and the backyard BBQ - especially in sunny areas or sunny seasons. I like the idea that the NA market version will allow solar or gas cooking...

    Sun Saluter

I saw on CBC a program about this amazing technology which a young Canadian woman invented. It is going to revolutionize the solar industry when it comes on the market. Her objective was to make solar energy cheaper and more efficient for the poor in the Global South. Apparently it follow the...

Not sure why he has a winch cable attached. Either way if you slip, your going to get a lot of pain.

    Double Spare Carrier

This is an interesting design for someone who occasionally wants to carry two spares but doesn't want all the weight and cost of a dual spare tire carrier rear bumper. It definitely is not nearly as convenient as a swing-out and could be a bit heavy to move.

    Spotted on Hwy 1

Coming back from the Dr. in West Van my daughter and I spotted this gem East bound near Burnaby lake. This is a Toy tray back which would have some Aussie red necks a drooling. :grinpimp:

    Buying a new solar system?

You may want to hold off on that new solar system if this new product (in patent process) proves to do what it claims. For that matter, we may just be strapping DC motors to each wheel with a nice diesel electric back-up for the cloudy wet coast...

    The heat is on?

Well sort of on and off. Went to pick the kids up in the wife's Safari at UVF last night. Got to the top of King road and watch as the temp went way up past 3/4 on the dummy gauge. The fan clutch didn't even kick in and I had no heat. I had just had heat 5 min before. Strange. :confused...

    Overland Journal - in Bellingham?

Was in Costco in Bellingham last night. Got back to the wife's Safari and found a new copy of an older edition of Overland Journal under the wiper blade. No note or anything. Just wondering if they have staff in Bellingham?
