Anyone here tired the TYT radios? The reviews on eham are pretty good. Here is a hand held that i am considering:
TH-UVF1A Dual Band Transceiver

Seems to have a ll the bells and whistles and more of the big brand name hand held radios.

I was also reading that they will be coming out with a TH-9800 multibander mobile unit to add to their mobile selection. It is suppose to be retailing at between $320 and $450. If it is as well built as the reviews say of their dual band radio, it might be worth waiting for it to get to retail instead of buying a dual or single band radio.

Th e only thing that I could see by the eham reviews is that you can tx 400-470 Mhz, which means you can comm with the FRS radios. You would probably have to tx using narrow fm....but it looks like another cheapo Chinese manufaturer.

If you are looking for really cheap, radio mart is selling this

Baofeng UV-5RC Dual Band Transceiver

Me? I'd spend another 45 bucks over the tyt and get someting known to be reliable with lots of product support (think batteries).
