    250 driveline specifics

Trying to find specifics for which diffs the 250 is carrying. I poked around google for a while and tried snooping for details in Youtube vids, but I've come up short (so many YT'ers missed getting detailed chassis shots that I'm guessing Toyota forbade their collection). Anyone found anything...

    Hilux  Re-build thread - '83 longbed mini

Checked this '83 out last weekend. Dumped some gas down the carb and she fired up. Ran for about 30 seconds with no weird noises so we made a deal and hauled it back to the shop. Photos are where the gold is, but this is the only one I've got for now. More to come. Spent the last week letting...

For Sale  North Alabama - 60 series rear seat in blue

I'm cleaning out the shop and have the rear seat from my trail truck in my way. Surface rust on the frame, a hole in the front vinyl panel, and small burn in the seat bottom. Was gonna curb it but I was talked into posting it so that a 60 owner could salvage the mostly good seat fabric. I worked...

    Other Local-ish cruiser stuff

Looks like Joel (tennessee80) is putting a little cruiser thing on up at his business in Nashvegas. Pending the weather, this could be a good day run to Nash. Cruisers in the morning and let the ladies have an afternoon at Arrington. We all win here...

    Auto trans braking

Came across this thought in another thread. I agree. The converter slippage sucks. Then I remembered that Jacobs sells an inline exhaust brake kit that locks the converter in certain conditions to allow some real exhaust braking power for HD pickups... Is anyone doing something similar for...

For Sale  AL - OE UZJ100 rear springs

Stock height UZJ100 rear springs. Came with some other parts I bought, but I don't need them. Seller said they were in great shape before removal for a lift. The rest of the parts they sold me were as described so I figure these are good to go. $50 takes 'em. Will ship on the buyer's dime.

For Sale  AL - OE FZJ80 springs

Lifted the truck and the springs are taking up shop space. Perfectly good stock height springs, front and rear. $100 takes the set. Will ship on the buyer's dime.

    80s with 6BTs

I've seen a LOT of threads about 6BTs being swapped into seemingly everything under the sun, including 80s. But I've seen none of the 80 threads, or 60 threads for that matter, that give first hand insight to driveline mechanical durability over time after the swap so I wanted to see what kind...

For Sale  AL: rear bumper and side step parts

Our '96 80-series got a 4x4labs rear bumper and sliders so the following parts are available. They'll be around for the next two weeks; after that they're headed to the bin. The hardware has most all been repurposed or chucked in the spares bin already. The few rust spots are surface spots...

Wanted  Knuckle spindle, adjuster nuts, and hardware (AL)

I'm looking for a knuckle spindle for my trail 60. PN search shows the same one was used on 40s/55/60s from about '75 up until the 80-series. If you've got one you'd part from the axle I'm interested. Thanks, guys.

    Differential carrier bearing fitment probs

I've got a 92 FJ80's rear 3rd member on the bench and apart for rebuild. The problem is that the new carrier bearings will not seat - there's probably a .025" gap remaining once the bearing stops moving. All my searches are showing the new bearing numbers to be correct for this year truck...

    Go-to recovery gear

I was talking with an old friend and newbie wheeling buddy who was in the market for recovery gear. He'd heard/read about all the "must-have" gear and was telling me about it. I told him I didn't have nor had I needed most of it. It sounded like I rained on his parade a bit! Then he asked what I...

Parting Out  N Alabama: 2004 4runner part out

I bought a silver 04 4runner 2wd wreck as an engine and controls donor. It was hit on the passenger side (rear passenger door/glass and qtr panel are toast), but the truck is otherwise in stellar shape. Drives and stops great. Parts currently for sale are the fenders, lights/lenses, bumpers...

    Junk / Salvage yards

Good junk yards are like good restaurants and bars...only the locals really know where to find 'em. So I wanted to start a thread for used parts sources as it doesn't appear that we have one, and I could really use a good Toyota yard as part of this swap. The only they'll-have-it-for-sure yards...

    2UZ + A442F?

This question came up over beers between a few of us and I was curious enough to give it a search. I didn't find much that ended definitively. The logic we had was that the FZJ80's 1FZ got the A442F and the A343F, and the 100's 2UZ got the A343F and the A750F, so there should be a common...

    Wanted  Southeast US: Donor 100/470

Looking for a 100 or LX470 as a driveline donor. The body can be trashed, rolled, etc so long as it runs. I'll be checking the yards as well, but any leads are helpful. TIA
