So I picked up my 2010 GX460 at the long term airport parking lot last nite in the rain, fog and darkness. I drove the 55 miles back to my house and the last 12 or so miles and noticed what I thought was mud and water coming out from my rear wheels . As I got to lights of my small town I saw...
My lx450 has been that champagne color forever , and after owning it for years I finally changed the color to medium gray in Monstaliner! It was very easy to block sand and mask off and "rolled" really well ! all toll with extra rollers, sandpaper, etc. less than $500 for material and 3 days...
When backing up a hill , and I stop midway , then start again , there's a screeching noise , like a band stretching if that makes sense ? What do you think ?
96 LX450, 4:56, Harrop rear, 212k smileage, 33s , etc
Its a California vehicle and has always been a california vehicle. Its been base lined had all the leaks fixed , It was regeared to 4:56 by Georg Esterer and his team and has a rear Harrop locker with the factory switch added by Georg. It also had the TRE front end replaced and all the...
The back on my LX450 is broken and I need to find a replacement seat. I've checked with asian junk yards around sacramento to no avail ... what other toyota seat will fit for a drivers seat ? 4 runner, tacoma , tundra ?
also is there way I could just brace my seat back up ... I reclined it...
Driving yesterday , all of a sudden I hear this weird sound that sounds like seats rubbing together, but it wasn't the seat... it was under the dash somewhere sounding like "eet eet eet eet eet", coming from the left side of the dash area under the dash .... anyone have a clue ?
I searched , but nothing came up ...steering loose on a 80 series, what are the most common worn parts ? Steering box has already been replaced ! So Tie rod ends ? I assume ? what else ?
The ARB's look nice , but look really heavy, likewise their rear ones do too. I have a 96 LX450, and H8 weight... ha ... or too much added weight . So i was thinking about the Trail Gear rock defense with or without the stinger, cause its looks lighter with the less metal , etc. Your Thoughts ...
I have had my 96 LX 450 for awhile now , and the seat only goes back the factory amount ! I need a couple inches further to be comfortable ! With my old retired knees , especially the skinny pedal side ends up aching cause it's in a bad angle on my knee because the seat doesn't go back far...
...doesn't suck coolant out of the reservoir mounted on the passenger fender, and in fact when starting the truck, I hear water flowing, which I didn't use to hear or didn't notice , there's no puddling on the ground, the radiator loses fluid only by a little bit every week or so but diesn't...
and now my dummy alternator gauge on the dash has now a lower reading than with the other battery, yet when sitting with the engine off, it tests with a DMM at 12.73 volts and when running 14.40..... so my question is, Is there anything to worry about ? I inadvertent did put in a smaller group...
It wanders all over the road almost like a bumper car sometimes , and theirs probably an inch or 2 of play in the steering wheel. I thought maybe if there was a steering rebuild kit , that it may be cheaper than buying stuff piece by piece ?
Thanks in advance for your help and hope all have a...
I have a new radiator on my lx450, and the engine temp stays at exactly half way and has toyota "Red" coolant in it , yet the water light goes on and off periodically ? Any ideas ? Thanks in advance !
so noticed that camping in the LX450 is great , plenty of room with 2nd and 3rd row seats out ... only thing is , even with the doors unlocked... ya can't open the rear doors from inside the truck and have to climb over the center console to get out ... WTF ??? does it have a built in child...
So is once warmed up about 600 rpm too low ? it seems like it runs kinda rough at the idle . It doesn't hiccup or stall , etc. when I step on the skinny pedal , but just runs a little rough at that idle speed !
Your input is appreciated !
So I decided on the OME stock height springs kit from Cruiser outfitters. But am thinking adding a 1" spacer all four corners , then a 10mm on top of the fronts to level it out ( No stink bug, thank you , Rakes are for muscle cars, not yotas )... so I assume I'd have a 1.75" lift ? I also assume...
Just got back from taking the Usal rd to a really cool beach , its pretty minor but was my new ( to me ) Lx's maiden voyage... the scenery was outstanding !
have a 96 lx450... its stock height, and no factory lockers.... So who in the San Francisco Bay area specializes in Land Cruisers ? I could maybe do the lift myself, but know I can't do the regear or lockers myself ... would like to know who to go to ??? I've already sent an email to Mudraks in...
So I've had several wheelers over the years 2 chevies ( 98 silverado and last one 86 K20 Diesel burb ), and 2 Yotas ( 86 2 wheel drive truck, 89 built crawler- 22re, 5:29's, Marlin 4.7 Tcase, quick locks )
So I sold the diesel burb the other day ... and have found a 91 LC to get. I'd prefer a...
