I bought a universal sender with the proper ohm resistance for my gauge.
Just be aware, the bolt pattern is a little smaller, you will need to open it up a bit.
I'll disagree, a little, with an "it depends."
I've rebooted inner boots at least three times. If a boot cracks and starts throwing grease, that in no way is an indicator there is something wrong with the rest of the axle. The inner shaft...
Once on the pavement I decided to see if I could upshift without the clutch. Turns out that’s actually not hard to do on a 40 so got it into 4th and home I went.
Good job! Real men can do this, as well as shift unsynchronized tractor...

IF you have not pulled the windshield fully off you just cant tell how extensive this is. If you plan on keeping the vehicle I personally find the doing it right once and being done with it approach to yeild happier results than tempoary patch...
Remember that guy that drilled out the plug in cylinder head - went threw the cooling jacket into the intake port - Moral work slowly and carefully if you aren't sure of what you are doing. Power tools can ruin things quickly - if you just use...
I would look at how much you could roughly get parting out the major components (engine, trans, tcase, axles, "used" new 3/4 tub, random odd and ends), and that would be my offer assuming you want a big project.
If it was mine I would do some inside tank cleaning chemical treatment. Then tape up all the holes and apply some air pressure with a soapy exterior wash looking for bubbles. I'd also make sure the drains work and don't leak after teflon tape...
It does come with a new steel 3/4 tub. Not sure how makes the replacement tub so if anyone can shed some light on the tub, it would be great.
If that is a typical Colombian tub, it may require massive rework to get it to fit the hard top (and...
This girl has 112K miles and runs like the preverbal sewing machine. She has been sitting in a hot garage on the west side of the house for four months. The temperature during the day is 120 degrees plus. This will be the fourth year I've had to...
More recently came on this forum and have met quite a few people in the community locally in NC already. A long time friend of mine has had a 1987 all original 60 sitting in his driveway for the ages not running. Its beyond sun baked and I've...
Anytime you connect a battery terminal wire to a modern truck, you will typically see a small spark from the battery to the cable, just at the moment they touch. I'm just suggesting you watch and be sure that when you hook up the battery, this...
I'd look over the entire truck very carefully for rodent damage, especially the air filter and wiring around the engine. Also, when you connect a good battery (with the ignition off and the doors closed), be ready for a small spark, and if you...
Did a little mod to preserve that razor thin tailgate edge when transporting long things.
Found some super-durable reinforced rubber edging. The upper tailgate weatherstrip seals against this when it’s all closed up.
I bought more than I...
After 2 months of the kit sitting in my garage, waiting on some other parts to arrive, I will be installing this next week. I will post some in depth photos, measurements, etc.
Sleeve installed
Had to use double timing gear to get it on
Seal was a little tight getting on but no issues
Will finish tomorrow hopefully getting everything back together
