I guess if you want to break out the flannel shirts and the grunge and cosplay that it's the 90s...
I'm with everyone else: 95% of the people are either not going to care much, or are going to remove it. That other 5% are going to love it, but...
On the 3FE, the cam drives the distributor. The distributor drives the oil pump.
The end of the distributor shaft has a flat blade tip which fits into the oil pump.
If the rotor spins, the oil pump is pumping.
OMG man message me I owe you a beer or drink . It steers like a dream now !!!!!!! I noticed the old belt had the power steering pump adjusted all the way to the top and it was a gates belt too . So there was no more increasing the tension on it ...
Well since we are being so forward, I don’t really care or want to save the 3FE. It leaks oil from just about everywhere, and didn’t run when I bought it, I got it running, and knew it was only a matter of time before the neglect caught up to it...
Brake fluid should be almost water clear. The darker it gets, the more contaminated it is.
As previously stated, it is hygroscopic and does not "flow" through the brake system. So it just sits there and will corrode the hard brake lines and...
If the brakes were working fine one day and then poorly the next day, then either you have a fluid leak, or a component failure.
If the brake pedal feels soft when you step on the brakes, then you likely have a fluid leak or master cylinder...
You have not described any symptoms of power steering issues.
Why are you running the engine with the cap off the reservoir? That just makes a mess.
The power steering system self bleeds and it's a pretty simple procedure.
With engine off, fill...
No worries. They're sitting in my basement. Let me know if you change your mind.
I'll have at least 2 of my own with me, as I'm sure one of our crew won't have one ;)
I realize I didn't word my response properly yesterday.
What I meant to say was that I'd be happy to bring the 6 GCLC club UV5Rs charged and pre-programmed for your event to hand out to folks who need radios.
LOL. LA to Denver is not "cross country". It's a whole 1100 miles. That's a short trip.
Check all fluids and the air in the tires before you leave. Bring a credit card and some snacks.
Strongly disagree with this. The fan MUST provide low pressure behind the radiator to have airflow.
Went through this on my 91 FJ80 with an old, tired fan clutch and on my 97. Both wouldn't stay reasonably cool at highway speeds.
Because these trucks are as aerodynamic as a brick.
At highway speed, there is a wave of high pressure air in front of the truck. The fan creates low pressure behind the radiator that allows air to flow through as opposed to around.
These trucks...
I'm assuming your truck is a USDM vehicle.
I'd be willing to bet that it doesn't exist. 99.9% of the time, the FSM is spot on. However, several items/specifications found in various FSMs are holdovers from earlier years/different markets.
The...
This is what I've found so far, but I have never actually seen one on a 3FE. Still not sure if this is a real thing or some sort of holdover from earlier models.
I got no hits after searching various VINs on partsouq for both FJ80s and FJ62s on...
