OMG man message me I owe you a beer or drink . It steers like a dream now !!!!!!! I noticed the old belt had the power steering pump adjusted all the way to the top and it was a gates belt too . So there was no more increasing the tension on it ...
here are the speakers I used (I mis-stated in a previous post I used Kenwoods in the rear, but I used Alpine all around)
Also added the Alpine powered subwoofer in the rear…. which remains a work in progress…

Replaced the Goodyear MT/R 315/75 with a new set of Yokohama Geolandar X-AT in the same size plus got the 80 aligned and completed an oil and filter change as well this week.
Older springs will definitely fatigue and loose some of the OEM characteristics such as static height under load and rebound rates...just ask my 2nd gen 4Runner that I had...headlights pointing to the sky with no load in the rig and all stock...
So it's all back together now as shown below.
See Bilt4Me's My Ignition Broke thread if you want to see how it all goes together (lock cylinder, rod, upper bracket, ignition switch)
And this is the orientation you want it to be in when removing...
Welcome to Mud. :flipoff2:
Those Tcase switches just need a little TLC. Unscrew them out of the holes, then use a continuity meter across the leads while you rapidly depress the balls at the end. If that doesn't clean up the contacts, slap a...
I'm not a big fan of decals normally but I do love the factory "Turbo" decals that have been removed from my truck at some point in its life. Ordered up a set of OEM decals and did my best to get them installed in the propper location and...
All said and done the shop billed Progressive $8100 for the repairs. I got my truck back and at first glance it looked great. Hoped in and started driving home and noticed the first issue half way home. The grab handle was broken.
Easy...
Early in the teardown the shop found some rust behind the windshield seal, and its not great.
They said the rust extends down into the firewall. I asked if they could just cut this out and repair it while it was already torn apart which...

I'm not sure that springs "wear out" so to speak. No doubt that the wrong rated springs will sag like a witches tit but bump stops and shocks - even blown shocks will keep the springs from being used outside their designed limits.
If anyone has not received a call or email from me by tomorrow by 5 PM regarding your turbo order please email me again. We are still here knocking orders out.
I have been out of the shop for over a week and a half with the whole family and...

"I stopped using speed bleeders."
Same here also, didn't have any specific issues once the Speed Bleeders were installed but when I replaced the old calipers with new OEM calipers I kept the OEM bleeders and tossed the Speed Bleeders. Now use a...
After stewing on my screw up for quite a while my options were to either attempt a similar DIY fix as what I had just done, take it to my father-in-law across the state and have him help me do a more professional DIY respray of the roof and rear...
As we were driving back from skiing it suddenly got very windy and my heart sank. We were still 15 minutes away from home and I knew the awning I left up over the drying paint wouldn't likely survive the wind. My wife pulled up the camera we...
Next up was the 045 color coat and it was time to see how close their color match actually is. I applied the paint with their tiny applicators that are basically Q tips for ants which made keeping the touchup paint isolated to just the repair...
Removed the spotty touchup paint with a razorblade and some tape to prevent scratching/cutting into the factory paint.
Then used a scotchbrite pad to lightly remove some of the surface rust that had formed.
Next took a pad with a bit of...
