Took it grocery getting! Felt good, first real drive in 6 months. Both axles rebuilt, new brakes plumbed and new suspension. Rode nice! Also found a few more items to add to the fix it list.

Just pull the engine, rebuild it.

Buy a new points dizzy from Toyota (you won’t notice any driveability difference between an electronic 60 dizzy). I’ve used both extensively - points dizzy is great for long term parts and bolt-on ease.

So, next project is the parking brake?

Thanks for all of your reply's I really appreciate it. at this point im going to replace the rear brake cylinders as well and bench bleed the master cylinder. then bleed again from the right order. ill also look into adjusting the booster pushrod...

I would recommend a cylinder leakdown test before you make the decision to rebuild the engine. Results from the leakdown test will show you where your engine is losing compression, and it could very well be a quality valve job will be all...

You didn’t mention the rear brakes, or bench bleeding the master cylinder.

Sucked out the brake and clutch reservoirs, filled with new fluid, and gravity bled at the wheels, to get new brake fluid into the system.

Now that ive got the two major rust blisters patched up on the passenger rocker, it’s time to start thinking about filler and paint. When I bought the bottle of touchup paint, I also ordered a spray can of Pluto beige. A little light bulb moment...

Just got back into town from a 3 week road trip and I put 1500 miles on the red Land Cruiser pictured below. I also met a lot of great people, including @Ditcherman and @Tank5 in the other two Cruisers.
