Last year when I did the timing belt and valves. I don't remember the numbers, but as I recall they were ok. However, my memory needs a rebuild (also due to age), so I think I'll do a comp-test again. Thanks for that.

Any of you change injectors just cause they were high mileage? I have a 93 pickup with a 3vze with 360,000 km on it. I'm having a slight but very annoying hesitation issue. Also, when lugging the engine slightly in 2nd or 3rd it sounds and feels like it's running on 3 cylinders...
You've got some gears running on that shaft. You DEFINITELY need to get that broken bolt out, and thread a new one in. The bolt holds a small flat keep that engages the shaft and keeps it in place.
I've resorted to surgery with an angle grinder at times. It's a bit tricky to cut the right parts, but works well. Only on my son's Dodge; never on my Yota's of course.
Great attitude and project! Never finished but always satisfying to drive. The pooch can pass you tools while you're under the truck. You WILL spend time under the truck! BTW, not sure what perfection is, anyway.
