So it's been a minute, but I finally got the ole girl back on the road. Still a few things to work out, but I'll save that for another day. Here's a couple pics of it as it sits right now. I'm waiting for DHL to show up with the front bumper end...

The Air Injection system can be a headache for us in smog legal states. This system has no effect on how well the engine runs. It only conditions the exhaust gases. You might consider ignoring, saving to last or eliminating this system if you...

Call me a glutton for punishment, potentially. I found this 2002 for sale locally and was intrigued. It was being sold by the original owner (who is now 77). She was from SoCal and moved here about 10 years ago. Had a stack of maintenance records...

@chptuls @Skreddy You guys are snipers. With a well placed thumb over the EGR, it will idle. That's where we will begin...

I'm with ^ Malleus on this one. Lack of exercise is a free and relatively easy thing to diagnose, and your description plus your temporary solution points to it. Pull the switch, clean and exercise it, and put it back. So many 4WD vehicles go...

Pull the switch off, clean the contacts and exercise it out of the case a couple of times. It'll take all of half an hour to see for yourself.

If your issue is that the CDL works, but the indicator light does not come on, then there is just one switch to worry about. I don't have the Toyota part number but I used this one my 2000 LC: Beck/Arnley 201-1788 Back-Up Switch No idea how...

I chased a random but persistent fuel smell for a long time before I just got a new OEM gas cap. Problem solved. FYI there was nothing visibly wrong with the old OEM gas cap. It was just old.

I would try a new OEM gas cap and not the autozone one.

Not sure if it’ll provide any peace of mind but I put a new battery in the 2007 LX today that hadn’t run or been moved in 2.5 years. Turned the key to accessory and saw the gas light on as well as the gauge pretty much resting on the empty line...

My original went to about 250K. It gave me plenty of warning - like weeks of whining - before it finally died late at night in a very rough part of town.

Hi All - Recently picked up a 2000 LC with 160K miles and the speakers were pretty poor quality compared to my stock system in my previous car. I wanted a solid system that wasn't going to break the bank, I went back and forth between going full...

Hey guys. Thanks for being such a great resource. I wanted to share: The dealer in my area has my 85 60 right now and gust did the fuel tank recall. Mark Jacobson Toyota. They have a master Tech. I had read that Toyota doesent have the parts...

Another really easy method is a deck of cards. They position and slide easily into place, card by card around the tire between the rim.

My money is on the switch. I had the same issue at ~250K miles. CDL worked, but no dash light. Not a big deal to swap it out. I used this one and now my dash light is working again: Beck/Arnley 201-1788 Back-Up Switch It is true that the...

My bulb was fine on a 237k mi LX. I did the switch on top the transfer case. If you have a ratchet that fits it just right, it might be easier than replacing a light in the dash. I have a thread bookmarked somewhere for the CDL light switch. I...

LFG!!!! Still low O2 at high RPM, hmm. Pretest showed CO slow to drop into range but we got that figured out. Did not run E85 - was just whatever was in the tank. Also set timing at the usual 7* BTDC. Big thanks to @65swb45 Mark at Mark's...

Ok, all fixed. Fortunately SAS9 is about 1 hour from Proffits Cruisers & they fixed me up with a good used fan motor. Was not a direct fit but took the ‘new’ motor out & put it in the old housing. All good now. The brushes AND the armature...

Here’s mine with 50% ceramic tint, $500 out the door for side and rear windows. Held off on the windshield as I’m getting a paint job soon and might be replacing the windshield.

Full clear ceramic including front window, done during previous ownership. Seems to work as well as the dark ceramic in the Texas sun, which we have in all of our other vehicles. Does have a very light green hue to it in certain lighting...

you also need to wonder how much more rust in inside that hasn't come thru yet. you currently see a small area but it could easily be 4-5 times that yes it can be fixed/repaired, if cost isn't an issue if cost is an issue, that is where the...
