in all seriousness, sbc is the way to go - the nissan VQ35DE while a very good powerplant, comes with its own shenanigans and as said by someone, the power figures while impressive are not suitable for a 40 series landcruiser
I just takes a simple internet search. The #'s are fairly impressive for a v6, but the rpms are likely unattainable in a FJ40.
306hp @ 6800rpm
342-358ft/lbs @ 4800rpm
It sounds like a really expensive experiment. I've done a few V8 conversions...
It could be as simple as tightening the nut, or could be the bearing. I think you can just pull the frt output housing. I think it's a stub shaft and the shift collar for 4wd is there.
You should probably download a free factory service...
Usually there's some rotational play in the diffs. It's the spider gears moving on the center pin and loading against the carrier case. Neither of the tcase outputs should wobble. The rear output seal is probably leaking. You might want to...
I think the perches aren't stk, and look to be aftermarket. I'd guess the axles came from a lifted 40 that ran a double cardon joint. That would explain the pinion angle. If it requires more than a 4* shims and you like the suspension and...
On my 1st 40 decades ago, I think I used the wilwood valve and it worked great. On the red 40 in the pic, I used the summit version and cranked it all the way and it isn't as effective. I also need to rebuild my master and bleed the brakes better...
I use a Willwood proportioning valve just like @pb4ugo has. It still needs some adjusting; I have it cranked almost all the way down and my rear discs are still too touchy for my taste, i.e. they lock up before the front discs if I brake hard...
You can put a wanted ad in the classified section. Radios are fairly scarce, there are some folks who sell factory looking 3d printed radio delete plates also.
I was able to get a smoker built for this weekends celebration of American hero’s.
Turned a wood burner into a smoker, still needs a couple things, shelves and going to put a steel wood burning pizza stove on the back, then cut off the extra...
