The other 6.0 and these 8 lug axles are going under the K5 along with a 4L80 and a NP241. I want to make sure they hold up to a 408 stroker!

I don't know how those things freeze, I can't seem to get mine to stay. 4000 miles and 2 have fallen out, I check them every 100 miles or so nowI got to a good stopping point tonight. Only had to extract 4 exh manifold bolts broken in the head. Much easier out of the vehicle!

No idea but we do a lot at work GM and Ford mostly but some Dodge as well. I think the bolt size is too small and the heat/cooling thing happens. More so with the aluminum heads.I don't know how those things freeze, I can't seem to get mine to stay. 4000 miles and 2 have fallen out, I check them every 100 miles or so now
I must bench build everyday, I just do not get to get out in the shop to put hands on. The last few years have been crazy with "life" and I have not either had the time or motivation to do too much. Things are calming down some and I hope to get some work done before the next big wave happens. Part of this will be swapping the 350 into my blue 77 so I still have something to wheel as well as the race car. That should almost be a plug and play since it was in a driving 40. I do need to decide on engine to tranny adapters. I like the idea of the AA and moving everything forward so I can have a longer rear drive shaft but the Marks may be quicker. I do not want 3 undriveable projects!I can barely keep track of one project! I’m glad to see some activity over there!!
As I now have about 1,200 miles on a stock 6.0(LQ9)/H55F/Split Case setup, I can assure you it IS enough. All I did was a basic head job, lifters, timing chain, etc and she runs like a scalded dog.Well I brought home my low milage 6.0 to install in this project. The other will be built into a 408 stoker for the blazer. I already think a stock 6.0 is more than enough for this one.
And a terminator x with a custom tune, lolAs I now have about 1,200 miles on a stock 6.0(LQ9)/H55F/Split Case setup, I can assure you it IS enough. All I did was a basic head job, lifters, timing chain, etc and she runs like a scalded dog.
LOL. I'm not sure how much that helps... maybe 10HP?And a terminator x with a custom tune, lol
I watched the video you posted, it peels out quite well... What manifolds/headers did you go with?As I now have about 1,200 miles on a stock 6.0(LQ9)/H55F/Split Case setup, I can assure you it IS enough. All I did was a basic head job, lifters, timing chain, etc and she runs like a scalded dog.
I gotta believe this to be true. I went from a warmed up SBC to a bone stock 5.3 and I a happy camper. I didn’t do anything but put it in its new home- probably as it came from the factory. Just modified some C5 Vette manifolds. With the Mark's kit it's basically impossible to run ps exhaust exit so it routes down under the oil pan and over to tie into the ds -> 3" from there back. I tried some that 60 series guys use from Summit but no dice.I watched the video you posted, it peels out quite well... What manifolds/headers did you go with?
I plan to drop the engine in and play around with the stock manifolds and I have been trying to see what others have done. I see a lot of headers and manifolds installed but not the y-pipe. Not sure I want to spend $600 on headers. I may try to cut and rotate the stock collectors....who knows.I would like to see this set up on the rig. Still trying to decide how to run mine
