60/14b combo. They have killer brakes, meaning more safety for mall crawling.

No kidding, those speed bumps come out of nowhere.

Well it looks like I picked up another project... might have a home for those one tons now! I do plan to finish this 40 before I build that one. Just wanted an early K5 before they get out of my reach!

Well I sold off the body, now to figure out what to do with this.......
The struggle continues!
Believe me guys, I think about this about everyday, just too many pieces to the puzzle!🙄

AND yes, that Tahoe has a strong running 5.3 6L80 combo 330hp

So some updates. I sold off the 80 chassis so that distraction is gone. Picked up another 6.0/4L80 combo just because it was cheap.

@bluehawk posted about needing a top. Well being as I have a few and need to get going on this project I decided to work on the top so he could have the front section.

Now I have read about the tooth method of joining the two together but after talking to a friend who repairs boats he said they butt them together all the time but told me about layers. Sheet size and how they do it. Sooo. I hit the easy button and made straight cuts.

I put them together but they do not meet up great due to the curves in the top. I will think about it and decide. I think I can build up the glass and make it work.

Sweet, for some reason, somewhere, i thought i read you saying you sold this. Glad that isnt the case! Looking forward to watching progress.

No updates on the 40 today. I wrapped up the gas tank install on my K5 and got that moving under it's own power.

Thanks @matzell......I think my guy in VA will be picking up that half sometime this week. I'll text you when I know what day he will be passing thru.

More first world problems... having now 2 6.0 LS combos , I am once again thinking of putting this one in this project. I know I have waffled but I like the idea of OBD 2 ability. I am leaning towards keeping the H55f and split case. I need to pick up a new flywheel.

I got the first layers of glass down. I am using the tighter weave at the seam and then overlaying with the other. I will lay some on the inside once I finish the outside.

Slow progress on this. I have two layers on top and three on the bottom. I will add more but I am at a good stoping point.

I also harvested another LS package from the silver Tahoe. 320 HP 5.3 and 6L80 combo. I am trying to tie up loose ends but this should be in the work bay soon and getting a LS transplant.

Well not much but I did finally unpack the LS clutch kit and paint the motor mount! I am going to stick one of the 6.0's in and see what happens. I am going to keep the H55f and split case combo, I think. The 4l80 to splitcase adapter is a pain. Unless the tons go back under it, then it will get a 241 case. :)

I may have found a home for the tbi 350??? In Lynchburg Lemonade. My small tire wheeler.

Well I brought home my low milage 6.0 to install in this project. The other will be built into a 408 stoker for the blazer. I already think a stock 6.0 is more than enough for this one.
