So... since more than a few LX450's have vanished before my eyes, I'll go ahead and throw my hat into the 'beggars corner'. Prefer a 1997 Lexus LX450, lockers preferred but not required. Prefer better than average condition, lower than industry average miles, well cared for, the usual. I live in SoCal, so color preference is White, Champagne, or Silver with Oak interior. Black is only cool on Harleys. :D Prefer vehicle in CA, but am willing to travel pretty much within the western US for the right one. Thanks in advance. Let the crapshoot begin. Great threads in here, BTW. Lots of cool rigs. Jose'
I leave for South America in a couple of days, so I don't have time to make a deal like this happen, but I thought someone might be interested. Not sure if it is a Scam or not, but worth investigating further. I have no affiliation. Like I said, I would buy it right now if half what he is saying is true. He is asking $4999. 1997 Lexus LX450 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80 FZJ80 4x4 Custom SUV offroad - Slee 6" lift - ARB Safari Snorkel - 325/85/16 Michelin XML military tires. (38.7" tall) - 4x4 Labs Rear Bumper with dual swing outs for tire carrier and ladder/fuel carrier - Custom rock slider side steps with built in catalytic converter protection - Electronic center diff lock switch - Front & Rear ARB air lockers with large ARB...
I used to have a locked '96 FZJ80 that I sold about 2 years ago... Huge mistake, but now I get to start from scratch again. Cosmetic and interior damage is not huge deal to me, preferably nothing structural I am really looking for something I can drive back though Lockers and any other aftermarket parts are nice but I am not really looking for any because I am trying to stay under the $8,500 price range. I am willing to hop a couple states if it is a good deal deal. Something in the Denver/Cheyenne area would be great. Let me know if you got anything that I would be interested in! -Duncan
I have my Land Cruiser up for sale on eBay - but can't decide on a price yet, willing to listen to offers. Toyota: Land Cruiser I also can't figure out how to upload photos to this posting, it keeps errorring out but don't hesitate to email me and I can send over photos. Here's most of what's in the bay ad I have posted: You can't wait to own and drive this Land Cruiser. To sweeten the deal I'm throwing in 1 quart of honey, harvested from my beehives this past summer. The car is sweet and the honey is delicious. Each are one of a kind items. You won't find a '96 Land Cruiser with 134K miles anywhere else, just like you won't find honey that originates from Springfield Virginia anywhere else. One-of-a-kind. In addition, at the...
I finally had to sell my 80 series. I have enjoyed it for the longest. I got me a 12 Sequoia Platinum 4x4 last week and I have an 11 Taco TRD 4x4 so I am letting my 80 series go. :( Its been in my family since 99. We bought it in Dallas, TX in 99. I pretty much was driving it since I was in college and maintaining it (thanks mud members!) It has 232,xxx miles. It should have more on it by the time I get back from driving to Atlanta and New Orleans. Its my highway warrior (yea I am getting all my last moments out of it). I will post pictures tomorrow after I get the 4 brake pads replaced and my parking brake cable adjusted. I'm asking $4700 firm because all you have to do is get in this and drive. Clear title is in hand of course. I have...
40th Anniversary Land Cruiser Saw this post this morning and thought I'd pass it along to everyone. Looks pretty nice, even though it doesn't have the lockers. I see it's been "up north" for it's entire life- I wonder if he'd provide some pictures underneath to see what the situation looks like there. I was looking at the "AutoCheck History" report and it notes a possible lien ("a loan or unpaid bill")-- the seller addresses that in his description and says there are no issues. How would someone go about getting confirmation on that? Just curious, as I've seen that on AutoCheck reports before, but not CarFax (could be coincidental). [I saw it said it's been "driven by a Grandma for 16 yrs", and noticed Grandma has been doing some...
HI, Complete new guy here. I've been on this site numerous times browsing, but I'm in need of advice/assistance. I've read Slee's guide and other threads in the 80 category. I recently sold my 11' TRD Tacoma, OME ARB winch 38K on the clock for an 80s series. Link: 2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad Sold it because I don't drive it to often maybe 6K a years since Ive had it. Never drove it in the snow/salt, waited until the roads were dry then took it out. By out, I mean to the dump and back in the winter and in the summer occasional road trip mountain biking and visit friends in the NE. It wasn't my DD, I drive 500 miles a week for work, I have a 06' Subi for work. With that said I plan on traveling for the right one...The right...

I'm just some punk kid (18) that is looking to buy an 80 series for trips to Baja, the desert, camping trips , and semi frequent driving around town. I've been eyeing out these land cruisers for a while now and know some of the common issues (Head gasket, Heater Hose, axle seals) that they suffer from, but some advice on what to look out for in a used LC from experienced cruiser owners would be greatly appreciated. I could give little to no sh*ts about the interior condition, paint scuffs, or minor body damage. -Grassy Ass
