1971 FJ40 Arizona $10,000
Found this on Facebook and I’m interested in her. What are y’all thoughts? Kind of new to fj’s, so what should I look for/ask when speaking with this person? Thanks in advance! Post from owner.... “Time has come for me to part with my 1971 Fj40. V8 swapped with Chevy 350, spring over kit, 35 inch km2 tires, spartan lockers front and rear, disc break conversion, 3 core aluminum radiator with massive cooling fan, original Toyota 3 spd trans. Truck is extremely driveable and a blast. I do not have the hardtop but have 3 sets of doors ( hard half doors, hard full doors, and soft full doors). Minimal amount of rust at bottom of rear tub but not bad at all. Would be an awesome truck with new paint. “

77 FJ40 - Craigslist - Not Mine
https://quadcities.craigslist.org/cto/d/muscatine-1977-toyota-land-cruiser/6918258537.html Not often 40's are for sale around me. Or they look like this one. I went and looked at it last week and it is too far gone for what I have time for - which I knew when I went to look at it. Here's a few more terrible pictures. The rear frame is pretty bad, but salvageable. The rear spring hanger isn't rotted out somehow. Air cleaner was left off carb and carb is frozen. Bunch of emissions stuff still on it. Hard top is in OK shape. So are the doors. Door cards are in good condition. Cab is OK. Jump seats are in good condition. Tub is rotted behind front seats - among many other places. Mossy as sh*t. The story he told was his buddy was hot...
1979 FJ40 PS, AC in GA
I’m selling my 79 FJ40 “project”. I’ve had it a few years and have did odds and ends but it mainly sits in my shop. It does have factory power steering and AC was added at some point. Has a York compressor. The 2f has been desmogged and a new oem carb added. It runs good but has a good bit of rust. I would say that a 3/4 tub would be the best solution but I do have a stainless half tub and new floorpan I was going to use. I actually have everything to rebuild it but that does not go for this price. I would be willing to discuss a price for it all but this isn’t a fire sale. I’d prefer to sell the 40 first and then all the parts. The frame has some rust in the mid frame area that I was going to address but it’s not awful. From...

[co] 1962 fj40 soft top "little orphan annie"
i'm getting too many again and now i'm scheduled to move for work. pains me to do this because i love driving her, but i don't drive her enough. check the build thread little orphan annie for details. i haven't finished the soft doors and i haven't gotten bows bent, but i do have the replica pieces for above and behind the doors which is the hard part and i have a modified later 40 rear bow, so you just the b bow, the sides and the mid bow. i have an ocd beetle top, but the proportions currently aren't correct for factory bows. i will try to get it wet and stretch to fit and coat. the seats were redone in foam and that didn't work well and the color isn't coral just because i don't like coral, they are a maroon color, along...
1976 FJ40 price check
Hey Fellas, Been lurking a while, on the look out for a project FJ40. I appreciate all the feedback this forums provides. I’m looking to add a long term project car that I can work on with my family. I have a line on a 76, and was hoping to get some feedback. Here’s the link to pics I don’t have all the info yet, will update if the FJ isn’t a hard no. In CA, asking south of 3k. I asked about the frame, getting it drivable short distances, and if he planned on patching or replacing the tub, got this response back. “I will take a better look at the frame in the morning and let you know... in order to get it to be drivable the gas tank will need to be flushed along with the fuel lines put new tires on it and check the brakes...
1979 FJ40 ADVISE
I'm new to MUD and the FJ world. Looking for a FJ40 that is in good shape, but needs some restorations as a project for me and my son. I happen to find this 79' FJ40 w 90k miles with mostly original parts. Runs well. Some rust, a few paint issues (but is original), radio doesn't work, a few small things. Owner has not posted it yet, but wants $23,000. The prices of these vary wildly from what I can find. Basically, could anyone give some advise to a noob with pricing? I'm happy to pay fair market, which seems to be closer to $20,000. Any thoughts?
A friend is offering a 77 FJ40 with a 350 swap, lift kit, and off road tires for $8,500 (TMU). Truck has been sitting for a few years (albeit protected in a covered shed), but we put a little gas in the tank and a hit of fuel in the carb and she started right up...gotta love a 350. Body is repainted, but I looked all over and saw no corrosion or rot, and it seemed like there was only a few spots of surface rust from sitting for so long. The friend offered to have their shop go through the mechanical stuff to make sure everything is running properly so it would be able to drive reliably and pass inspection. A little TLC is definitely needed on the paint and body, but it should be sound mechanically. This is my first cruiser so I’m...
