For Sale: 1975 FJ40 VIN:FJ40193478 - Matching Tub and Frame I bought this FJ40 from a guy in New Orleans in 2013 and it had been painted tan and had a SOA done to it when I purchased it. The SOA was not done to my liking, so it was redone using a Ruff Stuff SOA kit using FJ62 axles. The TBI 350 was already installed and not much has been done to that. There is a link with 150+ photos from when it was purchased, and the work began. The first photos of when it was tan/ still tan paint visible, were the beginning of the project. I've got a 1969 FJ40 for sale. Does not run. Restoration project or buy to part out. It sat from 1994 to this past April. It is fitted for a Ford 289 motor, which I have yet to pull. Reason I'm selling: I currently have no place to store it and if I did I wouldn't have the money to restore it. My loss is definitely your gain. Don't have the time for this project vehicle like i thought i would. All original parts, some rust, but not too far gone. originally bought in PA with a notarized bill of sale.( no title) garage kept &/or covered for the entire time I've owned it. Engine holds compression, but PO took out brake lines & battery. has 1F engine and 3 on the tree transmission intact. also have an extra '73(?) axle with disc brakes. Have the fiberglass hardtop separated from vehicle. (ready for restoration) asking $5000.

Wanted Early FJ40/45/FST with original paint, great patina, no rot.

Unicorn hunt. As the title says, looking for a 1960s era FJ40/45/FST, unmolested original paint no rot rig with great patina for a patina restoration. I realize every rear sill is essentially gone, but I don't want any large rust areas elsewhere on the truck. I'm getting an interesting swap deal, as described here LJ/FJ swap. This includes a rotted but running 1984 BJ40 and a new Cummins Repower R2.8. Given that, I don't need a running or original drivetrain truck, as it will get a modernization with at least disc brake axles, probably power steering, etc. That said, for the purists, I promise that if I get the right patina rig, it will NOT be repainted. Any upgrades will be completely stealth, and only apparent if the hood is opened...
