I have decided to part with my 1982 BJ42. Truck is Canadian, let hand drive. Original 3B motor, 4 speed transmission, no power steering, and suspension was replaced by a PO to an OME kit that gives it a small lift. All mechanics are solid and very dependable. It is my daily driver from May to October, then is oiled and stored for the winter. 250 000 km on it.
I have had it 6 years, and in that time have done regular oil changes, replaced all fluids and filters, radiator and heater hoses, fusible links, and installed a 24V to 12V converter for charging phones, etc.
The cruiser tracks true and straight at all speeds; no wobble on the highway.
I have the soft top and doors, and the rear tailgate; I have never installed them because...

Have a 75 fj40 all lights work fine except for when I activate turn signal each direction it makes all hazards flash front and rear instead of just one side of vehicle was told to clean signal and hazard switch which I did maybe not good enough still doing the same thing

After about a decade of owning and enjoying this rig, it's time to let it go. This is a dune beige 1976 FJ40 that has, to the best of my knowlege, always been a California vehicle.
Recently put a solid 2F in it that I sourced from Georg at Valley Hybrids. Runs well and gets 11-12 mpg consistently. Passed smog in June 2018 and is registered until September 2019.
I installed mini-truck power steering, using the OEM pump. Also added a power steering cooler (a tranny cooler from an FJ80). Turns easily with one hand.
Running near-new BFG AT's on 31x10.5x15's on OEM steelies. Gear reduction starter. Heavy duty 4-row radiator. Carb was rebuilt by Mark A several years ago. Con-ferr grill guard. Winch bumper (of...

It has 4 speed transmission, shifts strong and smooth. Clutch in great working condition.

1977 FJ40 - 2F motor, pulled and fully rebuilt less than 5k miles ago. Loads of parts recently replaced, including brand new radiator, clutch kit, brake master cylinder, rebuilt carb, resealed transfer case, brake hoses, hard top seals, many wiring enhancements - more than $15K invested in motor and mechanicals to get it to daily driver level. Old Man Emu springs, and new Old Man Emu shocks and steering stabilizer. Repaint was done before I bought the FJ, about 3 years ago. It's good, but not amazing. No known leaks or rust. Good project. I’ve looked at the 40 and also the parts 1980. Do not have interest in another project so passed. Basically the 81 is complete and drivable but a very rusted out tub. Has lots of body putty and a very amateur paint job. Very salvageable otherwise. The 80 parts truck is disassembled with top, tub and front of frame missing. Rest is all mostly there. This may be a real find for someone. Motivated seller. Best wishes in your search.

1982 FJ 40 for sale!!!! Very low miles.. runs and drives, new carb,there was very little rust but all has been repaired, replaced metal by a restoration shop body was sandblasted for exception of the top.. most all parts are there to reassemble.(needs some emblems, rubber etc. The little things) Has original jump seats. Solid top.. all glass is good 4wd works. 2nd owner. Could bring big $$$ with the proper time put into it. Owner simply doesn't have time to complete and it's time for someone to put it back to its FJ glory!!
