I’d like to find a fj40 that runs and is solid but needs work. This gentleman has quite a few land cruisers for sale and am just curious if this is a decent buy?

First...I am no expert and most of what I have learned I learned here on MUD. This is a South American truck. No heater, front or rear, no dash pads.. Some nasty under that coating they are BRUsHING on.. The rear quarters will need lots of work. The rear sill has damage. Damage to the ambulance doors. No engine photos? No suspension photos? This guy buys cheap SA trucks, imports them and then flips them. I would wait.

I’ve seen his hangar full of parts and his rigs. He’s got quite the inventory of doors parts bibs motors seats tops etc.

He was fair with dealt with me on prices to bundle a package of stuff I needed. I got everything I needed for my project.

But.... his definition and mine of ‘rust free’, ‘just slap a motor in and drive’, ‘just a little work and she’s a beaut’ etc are far apart.

that is not a south American 40. bucket seats, roll bar, dash pad - was simply removed. The bracket is there. You can also see the heater lines for the heater....
wrong wheels but definitely a US 40
