Vehicle History:
This U.S.1970 Fj40L-VA was sold originally by Deal and Davie Inc. (1107 Main Susanville, CA 96130) to Dean A. Spencer P.O. Box 802 Herlong, CA 96113. Purchased on 1-2-1971. Story goes, Mr. Spencer was quite the outdoorsman and specifically an avid fisherman. He had a cabin near Angels Camp, CA This was the home base for this FJ40. For roughly 40 years Mr. Spencer's main use for this vehicle was accessing fishing spots with his aluminum boat that was towed through the mountains by this fj40. Mr. Spencer sold the car to Jerry ***** out of Stockton, CA in 2000. Jerry told me it was so nice and original he had to have it, but had so many other projects including other fj40s that he decided to put it in storage...

For sale is my 1977 FJ40. I drug this out of a barn in Buck Creek ,Al in 2016 and have been doing a frame up restoration ever since. She has a great running 2F with 4 speed trans. Too many things to list but top has new drip rail, new weatherstripping except for the front windshield, front seats been reupholstered, all lights work and harness in good shape, new dizzy from city racer, also new oem radiator, new hoses water pump,t-stat etc. Holley carb setup with headers, carb cleaned and runs great, new brake pads and shoes and rear wheel cylinders, new master cylinder. I have a 1976 (3/76) FJ40 that I love but right now I need at pickup truck more. I need a 3/4 ton (F250 or 2500) truck, crew cab, 4x4. If this might interest you message me and I can give you full details on the FJ40. The FJ40 is an original USA import model, 2F engine, with hard top. Lots of work has been done, very minor rust spots on the body. Would also sell but that's a different post.

All is legit, from what I can gather remotely. A few notes:
> 3 Speed Trans
> Front drum brakes
> No heater
I got over the first, but couldn't get over the drum brakes. Yes, conversion kits, but for a 78 I wanted it disc from the factory. The heater, blah, gives me the room to put in a more modern unit with AC.
Otherwise the body and restoration work looks properly sorted.
Good fj40 hardtop with crack free cap and excellent windows. Little rust in rear corners but overall a good top. $1000 obo
I'm finally seriously on the hunt for a 40. I've come pretty close to pulling the trigger on a couple, but they weren't exactly what I was looking for and I have plenty of time to decide.
With that being said. details on what I'm looking for are below.
'68-'71 FJ40, original drive train is required. Prefer 3 on the tree is still on place, but not mandatory. I'd rather have a clean frame and body than a mechanically perfect truck. Original interior in any condition is better than brand new bucket seats. Original paint in any condition with a little rust and no previous body work or bondo is preferred over shiny new paint. Later model front axle and/or roll cage is a plus. Hard top and doors required. No cut fenders...

1976 FJ40 with good "bones" and ready for restoration and or make it into a wheeling or hunting rig.
Mechanically this thing is great. Steering is sloppy but it comes with all the ball joints and tie rod ends as well as the steering box rebuild kit to get everything back to like new.
Also comes with a slew of other parts like new plug wires, block heater and some other stuff I am forgetting currently.
Tyres, wheels and hubcaps are all brand new. It has an electric fuel pump and a Weber Carburettor with electric choke. Starts right up no matter how cold or warm. Drives, shifts, turns, stops as it should. Just the typical cosmetic issues with these rigs. If I was going to keep it I would likely fix the...

'70 FJ40 rust FREE Landcruiser - $4950 (Citrus Heights)
Folks this thing is amazingly clean! Anyplace you see primer I've just hit with a scotch brite pad for a seconds and it comes clean that fast. A buddy that has restored over 25 40's checked it out and said this is one of the two cleanest tubs he's seen!
Project 1970 FJ40. has a partial small block installed with a stock 3spd tranny and transfer case. Body has surface rust but ZERO rot that I can find. Driver's seat, no passenger seat, one rear bench seat.
I also have a running F motor with transmission and transfer case still attached. I have multiple sets of drive shafts.
Also included are front fenders, hood, front bib, good body tub with rear 1/2 doors windshield frame...
I sure hope a fellow MUD member got this one. It was on Craigslist Denver for a day. And sold in less than that for $3,500.

Why the sale? We've decided to reduce the fleet of projects and let go of one. I bought this 1979 about 5 years ago from a local carpenter that had it for yrs. He sourced it from Georgia which explains the best feature of this project. This 79 has the cleanest undercarriage I've seen on a 40. There is simply nothing wrong underneath, no delamination, no surface scaling, nada....
I gave this 79 to my wife on our wedding day in 2018 and we planned to restore it, but a 60 and 55 project are in line first and we need the room.

Hi All, I am selling my 1976 FJ40 that runs! When I bought it (before kids) I had thoughts about working on it. I have not had the time since kids. The previous owner rebuilt the Master cylinder. I have a May 73 build FJ40 for sale in Marietta,Ga. The vehicle doesn’t run. My dad bought it a few years ago for parts. It has a 1f motor and 3peed transmission and transfer case. Frame looks to be in good condition and the cowl is in great condition. Asking $2,250 for everything in the pictures that’s on the 40.

Selling this turn key and go 1979 FJ40 to make room for another new project. I purchased this unmolested 40 a little over 2years ago as a 3rd owner with no intention of selling it so some of the OCD came out in my restoration/modification. I wanted to have a nice 40 that I could drive reliability day in and out if needed but not make it too nice to take off road when I wanted to.
