1971 FJ40 in Virginia
1971 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. A previous owner had started a restoration and replaced the engine with a Ford 302 V8 and mounted the body on to a 72 Bronco chassis. Frame is clean and the tub and body panels are all solid no rot or rust holes nor patches. It has a 3 speed on the column shift. 4WD works. Runs and drives fine. Good base for a body restoration or to just make into a fun trail off road build. I do have top sides and the hatch all with good glass. No top cap or side doors. No heat in it. Has some things to be fixed which I'll be fixing in the meantime until sold. This may affect asking price. Had a mechanic look over it to see what needs to be fixed: Exhaust Leak in manifold back Need a parking brake re linked Replace...

Helping my friend sell his 1974 . He has had it for over 20 years and has sweet ca blue lic. Plate still! I has been sitting for a few years so we put a new carb on it and got it Running again. No smoke and runs good but will need fine tuning (tune up) To be perfect but runs well as is and rear wheel cylinders just replaced and brakes are good. All original paint. Running boards cut up along with lower fender corners like BTB did in the 90’s... very little rust in rear corners and a little here and there from sitting under trees while parked. Will need gutter work on top (have some patch pieces for the repair). 2.5” lift and 35”tires. 1.5f motor to stock 4spd. Has disc brakes in front and a lockrite Locker in the rear(have stock spider...
Folks, I know... another wanted Fj40 thread... My best bud on the east coast is looking for a nice driver. I have been looking but not having success. Key wants are: great mechanically Clean presentable paint Four speed Front discs Can have slight lift He isn’t looking for perfect. Just clean, good running cruiser. Not a daily driver. Just weekend car. He isn’t going to wrench on it. Just enjoy it and have his mechanic friend fix things when needed. Have cash in hand. 15-20is target but may go higher if the right cruiser comes up. He lives in Garden City Long Island. But if close to Chicago, it can come here and then I can go through it and trailer it his way. Let me know what you may have or if you now of a good one. Thanks for...

01 LX470 for clean 40 series
Interested to trade my LX for a good condition 40 series. It is my daily driver and would need something that could serve that purpose (15 min one way). It’s got a brand new battery, roof rack, truck vault, upgraded head unit, timing belt was done at 140k, and I have 18” steelies that can go with it. AHC is fully functioning and aside from a slight power steering leak, no mechanical problems to my knowledge. Wear and tear on interior is normal for its age (some cracks/tears in the leather) but nothing that’s awful or unsightly. No real rust that I have seen. Feel free to ask questions here or PM me.
Yakima, WA: 1973 Toyota 40 Series
Edited for Details: Trying to help my father-in-law who is not tech-savvy get some more coverage of his dream car that he is having to get rid of. Was diagnosed with Leukemia and Parkinson's in the last 2 years and so is not getting to use this car anymore so he's selling. It's a good driver that he's put 86k miles on overall. Traveling between Central Washington and Northern Idaho on primarily paved roads, though it's done probably a few hundred of those miles on logging roads in those same areas. Last several years has seen it mostly just used in 4th of July parades in his retirement community. Just had a new clutch/head-gasket and radiator put in. All factory setup, no power steering, no modifications of any kind. Even the...

1972 FJ40
Restored but not running. Was running great but one day it started cutting out, backfiring etc. I could get it running a few more times but same stuff. Now I can't get it started at all. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know what to do and the wife wants it out of the garage. Here is a quick list, message for more details. 3FE conversion with 4 speed transmission. The 3FE was rebuilt about 5K miles ago. Front discs, new softtop, new clutch all new badging, new wheels, new bumpers, new seats, lifted. Three doors to restore two also included. I'll get more pics if wanted. $16,000
1975 BJ40 -- 'the duck'
Howdy mud, It's time to move on and see this great vehicle off to a new owner. It's been about 10 years since I picked this beauty up in Costa Rica and drove it home to the US. It's been a project for me and my father since. So, on to the fun stuff! It's got a 13B-T/H55 (5 Speed). You can hit highway speeds in the US finally. You're welcome. No EPA bull****, it's exempt here because of the vehicles age when I imported it. You can stop now with 4 wheel disc brakes and power steering. Aussie locked rear. Warn 24v winch. I've got a laundry list of other work, but that nails down the important stuff. My dad is a gung-ho marine and he did the body & paint and tires & wheels. I'd be happy to provide any additional info about the build...
1963 FJ40 FST
$4500 FST No title bill of sale only too nice to part in my opinion. Would make a great patina ride without the top/ doors that are on it. Vader light 6 wheels with 2 hubcaps Tailgate for FST Tub is really clean old steel doesn’t rust as bad Has different year top and doors Was running before owner passed. Going to fire it tomorrow and take a video good patina ride candidate willing to do $3500 cash and a TPI complete running motor with accessories (No harness) and a th400 running In trade or $4500 cash. Open to offers from mud guys if reasonable. I know I can get money out of parting it but I don’t wan to.
Looks like this could potentially make a good project; price is $750, looks like the parts alone would add up to at least that much https://denver.craigslist.org/pts/d/parker-1970-toyota-fj40-chassis/7206618379.html Ad says: 1970 Toyota FJ40 chassis Frame appears to be straight good axles with old disc brake conversion fuel tank, marker lights, windshield, wiper motor, pedals, etc. comes with clear title
South Dakota, Fj40 crawler project.
The Good: 1970 Fj40 Crawler Project. A lot of good parts, 4 link rear with King coil overs, front suspension sprung under custom Alcan springs, Psc powersteering, high steer setup, 4.10 axle gears, I was told rear is welded. Metal tech cage, metal tech fenders and rocker guards, Grant steering column, Dolphin gauges, 350 with TBI injection. Corbeau seats with 5 point harness. Rear disk brakes and fj60 front rotors. Tom woods drive shafts. Tub and body parts are very straight and little rust to speak of. Comes with rollers but will throw in some 36inch swampers. The Bad: No title, I was told it used to have a th350 auto trans, I have an Sm420 and three speed case and adapter that will go with the truck. You will need a bell housing...
