Selling my beloved Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 40, 1974 pluto beige OEM original color! To my knowledge, I am the 3rd owner, with a previous owner having done restoration work in 2008. Here's a quick overview of it. Asking $18,000 OBO. Will work with people on here to coordinate. I have it posted on eBay and Craigslist also, but I won't go out of way with those folks.
  • - 1974
  • - Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 40
  • - Odometer shows 2393 but that may not be 100% accurate
  • - Never (to my knowledge) driven off road, but 4WD tested and working
  • - Drives fine
  • - Steering has been updated to power steering
  • - Brakes are updated to disc brakes (not anti-lock)
  • - Front seats are Corbeau racing seats with Corbeau brackets
  • - Rear seats are original fold-down sideways mounted
  • - Clean Virginia title, currently titled as antique (so not subject to safety or emissions inspection, but should pass)
  • - Engine is strong and runs fine, but as a 1974, max speed is about 53 mph
  • - Brand new front locking wheel hubs recently installed
  • - Clean and fun!

Items to be aware of:
  • - Headliner had worn out and has been removed. Replacement OEM headliner is approximately $150 on CruiserCorp website
  • - Some minor spots where paint is starting to wear (not peeling)
  • - Some minor rust spots in driver and passenger floorboard
  • - Pressure on original fuel pump is low at times. I have a replacement battery-powered fuel pump that I haven't gotten around to installing yet. I am including that in the sale
  • - Missing one hydraulic on rear window - see picture
  • - Exhaust system is working fine, but metal is starting to rust
  • - Fuel gauge works only intermittently, so you have to be aware of your gas levels
  • - Radio is original AM band but is not currently connected; there may be 1-2 other electrical items in the dash that aren’t working properly
Restoration work included the following items installed and/or repaired:
  • * 4" LIFT KIT - INSTALLED BY PREVIOUS OWNER
  • * 33 BF GOODRICH TIRES ON AMERICAN RACING WHEELS
  • * POWER STEERING KIT - ($1200 installed)
  • * FRONT DISK BRAKES KIT - ($1500 installed)
  • * 2 BARREL WEBER CARBURATOR ($700 installed)
  • * GARVIN ROOF RACK ($600)
  • * IPF HEADLIGHTS - SUPER BRIGHT
  • * 100 WATS BOSCH ALTERNATOR Al209x ($160 installed)
  • * JUMP SEATS - GOOD CONDITION, RESTORED 10 YEARS AGO
  • * NEW OEM RUNNING BOARDS
  • * SAFARI SNORKEL - INSTALLED BUT NOT CONNECTED ($450 value)
  • * CORBEAU SEATS WITH FRAMES - INSTALLED BY PREVIOUS OWNER
  • * GOLD BATTERY
  • * REGULATOR
  • * VALVE COVER GASKET
  • * VALVE COVER GASKET PAINTED
  • * NEW HOOD LATCHES (, MADE IN AUSTRALIA)
Included but not yet installed:

  • - Toyota emblem (curved) for rear driver's side flare (above the 4wd in the photo)
  • - Original front fender (replaced with off-road fender as in photo)
  • - OEM mirrors (need adapter piece to connect to OEM telescoping arms) (value $80)

Update in September 2019. I've had the carburetor replaced, put on new shocks on the rear, and new brakes on the rear. I also posted a video walkthrough:
