Hey guys,
Posting this for a friend of mine. We are looking to see if there is any interest in my friends 1982 Land Cruiser FJ-40. He affectionately calls this one, "Sonny."
He purchased this one several years back from the original owner. It is dressed in the Olive Green (653) with classic white top. The paint has not been touched and does show a true patina.
There is rust and rust holes on the body - surface rust on the frame (see pics). The rust on the back quarters and in the foot wells are "daylighted." All repairable if you choose.
Mechanically, it's in great shape. Runs and Drives well. It has been sitting for several months but can be driven.
The Cruiser has less than 100k miles - sitting right at 78,596 miles.

The Toyota F series engine was a series of OHV inline-6-cylinder engines produced by Toyota between November 1949 and 1992. They are known for their high amount of torque at low engine speeds, massive cast-iron blocks and heads and also their high reliability. The F engine had one of the longest production runs of any Toyota engine. The F engines all incorporate overhead valves actuated by pushrods from a gear driven camshaft in the lower portion of the engine.

Looking for a US spec 1979-1983 FJ40 with original 2f engine.
Looking to trade my 2013 f150 limited with 50k miles for an fj40. The truck is in fantastic condition (it is a rebuilt title) and has 50k miles. Everything works great and interior is near perfect. Trade would most likely be be the f150 for an fj40 & cash as the truck is worth more than the 40 I'm looking to get. I inherited the truck a year ago after my father passed away unexpectedly and I want to get rid of the truck as it just is a reminder of a bad memory to me. Hello everyone. I'm looking for a rust free tub or complete body to use for this 1978 project. Prefer rust free that hasn't been altered/repaired. We started restoration and found a mess behind the diamond plate. I have the engine and transmission out. Chassis is excellent with power steering and fairly new suspension. Tub is shot though. I don't need the 2f motor and 4 speed trans/transfer case so I have that to trade if interested. Not ready to sale anything outright until I find a body. I may have to sale it all together and find another complete FJ. Thank you!

1975 FJ40, with 52k original miles, body paint*(Mustard Yellow), 2F engine and 4 speed transmission. One of the last survivors. 1975 and newer are the most desirable FJ40's and the 1975 model is the only year that’s smog exempt in CA. It spent most of its life in Colorado. I’ve had it since 2007 and only put around 5k miles on it. Always garaged and never driven in the winter since I’ve had it. There's no diamond-plate hiding potential damage. This could be left as is and still be the envy of most that see it or candidate for a partial restoration. It does not appear the hardtop has ever been removed.

This Land Cruiser was always in Arizona before I purchased it. It was reported that the Kemper Marley family, a prominent rancher, owned this land cruiser in the early days. My initial plan was to restore it. Finding it in such good original condition I cannot see a reason to change it. I am moving on to another project.
** BODY CONDITION **
Upon closer inspection I found this land cruiser has 99% original paint. It is Beige color code 464. Only paint work ever done was driver door appears to be repainted many years ago. There is NO rust anywhere on this...
$27,000.00 I bought this cruiser in 2009. Since then it has had a frame off restoration. It had a soft top when I bought it. I found a rolling chasis in Colorado with the hard top, doors etc. Spent some time cutting out all the rusted sections and welding in new steel. From there everything was abrasive blasted, primered and repainted. There is no rust (sheetmetal rot). The rear sections had some repairs done by brazing by a PO. This was there when I purchased the cruiser and it looked solid so I did not cut this out and replace it. I believe that this is where the paint is bubbled in the corner by the swing door. Everything else was cut out and repaired.
