I have a mid to late 70’s FJ40 for sale, this was the last year the fuel tank was located under the passenger seat. I disassembled it and had the frame sandblasted, epoxy primed and sprayed with urethane paint. I then ran into some health issues and by the time they had passed I had lost interest in the project.
I have most of what is needed to put it back together including a new tub, transmission cover, roof, front fenders, front bib and rear fender flares from Mike Gozzard. I have the steel ambulance doors and all of the other body pieces, as well as what’s left of the original tub for reference on reassembling the firewall. It has the 4 speed transmission and the 2F engine. The engine ran great before it was mothballed, no leaks...
After 43 years of owning this '75 FJ40 I am putting it up for sale. I bought it when it was only 4 years old and it has always been a California vehicle. It was my daily driver for 25 years and I recently finished it's 3rd restoration in 2018. It has been garaged since then and I am only selling it because I have two other Land Cruisers, only drive it on the weekends, and I'm moving across country into a home with a two car garage. Very well kept FJ40. This FJ40 is a vehicle for the purist as it is mostly original and everything works. Factory color Freeborn Red, Cygnus White, and Hawaiian Blue original hubcaps and rims. 76 fj40 99% done project. Small block Chevy 355 with aluminum promaxx heads and torquer cam, and center force clutch. It has surface rust and a few quarter inch holes that need to be spot welded but as far as I can tell it has no serious rust. It was a AZ vehicle and it was garaged 80% of the time it’s been in NY. Has a clean titile. All three FJ’s have paper work.

The driver side floor pan has a hole but the frame, body and drive pan are good. It has a V8 350 small block conversion with headers. The FJ was running when it was bought but it has been sitting for a while so at this point I can’t guarantee that it runs. There is a new ragtop that comes with it. Clean paper work.
