This is a 1978 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser with mostly original equipment. It was purchased in 2003 in Louisville, Colorado. It has been kept in a garage. It only gets driven a few times each year on the back roads of Colorado. There has only been 2,525 miles driven since 2003.
The front body and doors are original and the exterior has been repainted. There is some paint chipped on the interior of the driver side door. All weather seals have been replaced and are in excellent shape. The aft body has been rebuilt with an aluminum tub. The bottom edges of the original doors have been treated by previous owner with a coating to prevent rust. Original 2F 6 cylinder engine rebuilt since 2003...
'72 FJ40 for sale in Florida. Chevy 305, 4 speed w/torque splitter transmission. This gives 16 fwd and 4 reverse gears + 27% overdrive. 2" Rancho lift, Chevy power steering, has hardtop (with extra set of glass), soft top (new), and bikini top. Lots of extra parts including 4 speed w/transfer case, set of full steel doors w/glass, steel half doors, extra rear hatch, grill, header for original 6cyl, maybe a birfield and driveshaft, have to look. This vehicle has had one owner and was restored 10 years ago and kept under car port. It has the factory pto winch and a heavy duty roof rack. Nearly complete maintenance records, oil and filter changed every 2,000 miles. It has about 200,000 miles on it. Manuals and extra parts. Factory tool kit and jack pristine. New clutch and pressure plate recently. Stock except for the pollution plumbing. All seats have been recovered. Original spare tire. $25,000 OBO
I had just finished my last fj40 and like most things you enjoy had to part with it to pay medical bills.;) So now that those bills are paid off I would like to find another one to get started on. I would like a fixer upper, I live in Lyncburg (central VA) if you know of anyone that is looking to part with one with a title pretty cheap. Rust is fine, just would prefer it be complete. I tried in the tech forum but this might be the better venue. Ive been contemplating buying this rig, but wanted to make sure I was assessing fair market of this rig correctly. Any help is appreciated guys. I was thinking mid 30's on it was fair. Opinions?

We have decided to sell our 68 FJ40. We bought the 40 about 6 years ago and was pretty much rust free rig when we bought it. The 40 has been rebuilt with all the rust removed and new metal replaced and sealed. The inside is coated with Rhino lining and is in good shape. It is also ways in the shop unless it can't be. I have a soft top and a custom bikini top made for the family cage. I do have the hard top but it is in pieces and not real sure if it is all there. The side and back are in good shape and sandblasted to bare metal. The fiberglass top is stored outside and unsure of condition. The doors are from a 74 FJ40 and are painted to match, the window regulators are stripped since I put new window felt in. I can't stand rattles. We...
