not mine obviously: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Land-Cruiser-fj40-1980-fj-40-toyota-land-cruiser-fully-built-383-th-400-beautiful-rig-must-/171119739272?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item27d7880188&vxp=mtr#ht_500wt_1182 I need to figure out how to shorted the link!! Looks nice on the surface for sure...one thing I've learned through my 40 mess is to not trust shiny paint and to take a MUD member (that has a lot more knowledge than me) with me to look when possible!! Still has washington tags, but in Brooklyn NY...some on here would call that a travesty in the making :) but for us east coasters its a reality we live with.
I have a running 1F engine for sale. It runs great, has good power. 72,000 original miles. Leaks some oil from valve cover and side engine cover when driven at highway speeds for length. Has a little blow-by from the breather at higher rpms. No issues when driven locally or off road. No knocks, pings, or strange sounds. Starts right up, even after sitting for a few months. It is still in the truck. I will do a compression test on it if you are interested, and send a video clip of it starting and driving. I will be happy to put it on a pallet and ship it if needed. Also have a 4 speed transmission. $250? Asking $400, or trade for a hard top and/or new style front/rear doors. Thanks, Bill.... 210*313*4924
Not mine...78 fj40 Need feedback AZ
Not mine however I could use some feedback. First off I think I have seen this posted for a while prior to it being re-posted. Spoke with owner a bit and he said no rust besides rear sill. He said the diamond plate is cosmetic and is not hiding rust. No leaks at ends of axles, differentials, or t-case. Any of you all know/seen/dealt with this 40 at all? What do you all think of the price? Thoughts? Opinions? I will post a few more pics that were sent to me... http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/3977191169.html
79 V8J40 - Not quite rolling chassis $900 SOLD 79 V8J40 Project 79 frame with title SBC 465, 205 14 bolt Cincinnati/ Northern KY SOLD Blasted and spray bombed frame. SM465 & NP205 behind SBC 350. Motor mounts are burned in good, but I don’t really like the design for a wheeler. Tranny cross member fabricated from stock GM piece and bolts to frame, but needs another frame side bracket, in my opinion. 14 bolt has been braced, stripped of drum brakes & lower coil spring brackets added. Started building rear lower links from ¼” dom tubing with johnny joints on one end and heavy rubber bushings on the other. Axle side link brackets cut from 3/8” flat stock. Four super beefy 8-bolt military 2-piece wheels...

1978 FJ40 with Chevy 427 Big Block
Hello, I am new here to the forum. Great site! I am selling my Cruiser. I never thought I would but I was in a truck accident and shattered my left knee. So yeah... I need to get rid of some toys. Anyways, enough of my sobbing... I finished this monster back in 2003. I am not sure what to ask for it. Can someone help me out with a price? I would really appreciate it. 1978 FJ40 located in Milford, OHIO 427 CHEVY BIG BLOCK ENGINE (Came out of a late 1960's Camaro) RANGER 2 SPD OVERDRIVE 8000# WARN WINCH WITH MULTIPLIER COMPLETE ROLL CAGE CHEVY POWER STEERING FRONT BUCKET SEATS STAINLESS STEEL TRIM FIBERGLASS FJ40 BODY 12x15 RIMS SUPER SWAMPER TSL SX DUAL BELTED TIRES
Well, I found a nice FJ55 to replace my old orange and white truck, means I’ll be selling the recently acquired 40 I got from Hildy. It’s a 78, has some rust issues but ain’t too bad, really. The front floor bottoms are bad where they meet the lower part of the firewall. Back sill is pretty solid. All doors have some rust at the bottom, rear bottoms were replaced (repaired) by an amateur. Top is complete and in good condition still has a decent headliner. Some pictures of the truck appear in this link: https://forum.ih8mud.com/sale-parts/728917-nice-40-roof-rack-pa-125-a.html Interior is very nice, has carpets (!!!), a Tuffy console with a great Pioneer CD player, very nice seats front and rear, has both heaters. Front...

It wouldn’t turn over after sitting for a year, so I pushed it into the back of the garage (thinking I was going to rebuild it) and haven’t messed with it since (3-27-13 updated below: I have messed with it. It runs now but has a knock). It has a OME lift, Weber 32/36 carb, Man-a-fre header and exhaust, Detroit locker...
Sold - 8-28-13 This rig is back on the market. I was going to sell it a couple years ago. I'm not sure the best way to re-list a vehicle, but please use the original thread for communication, comments, and questions just to keep everything in one place. The thread is here. Thanks. Best laid plans and all that, it turns out that in the past couple years I never got around to doing much more than moving it to the driveway and driving around the neighborhood a few times. Now that I got a new job and have to move, my family has come to terms that there is no time or space for the FJ40. Sad but true. On the plus side, here's a good opportunity for someone to take on a project that shouldn't be too difficult. This truck has some problems...
77 fj40 in colorado - $2600
I bought this to put a 74 body on, but I can't bear to tear up two 40's for one, so somebody with a tub is in luck. I am just now driving this thing around and so far, except for headlights, it seems like everything works. It shifts real smooth and crawls like it should in low. Previous owner put most of the miles on it and mostly highway. The frame is perfect and appears to be weirdly cared for considering the exterior. It has undercoating on it and very little rust. Newer shocks that work also. New radiator. Windows don't even rattle. This thing is sweet! (I'm keeping the battery) Potential delivery in Colorado for another $400 on a trailer, but with some tires it would likely drive across country. (Previous owner was really...

1962 fj40. Casper, WY $4,500 obo
$3,300 Firm SOLD, SOLD SOLD Thanks for checking out my fj40. I am putting my fj40 for sale because another project opportunity has presented itself. If I can't sell mine quickly I will probably keep it. The good: Original drivetrain except engine. Engine is an f155, I can get you the number on the block. New rear sill (square tubing). New rear frame member welded to supports and a 2" receiver hitch. New body mounts between sill and frame member. New brake lights in rear and turn signals in front. Nw clutch slave and master cylinders. Recent paint (it looks like the color of primer but that is paint). The bad...needs new tires, and Wiring repaired. Needs door hinge pins and hard top gaskets. Needs new thermostat...
Regrettably, I'm having to unload my '76 FJ 40 because the wife wants a new car. I've owned the car for almost two years and haven't gotten to enjoy it nearly as much as I have wanted. This rig is in very good condition and appears to be almost all original, except for the upgraded suspension and shocks. Odometer reads around 20k, whichi I'm assuming is 120K. I'll post pics later, but for now, check out this Youtube video the previous owner shot: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/YzjCeGUmCbM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I'm asking $20,750.00. The rig is located in San Antonio, Texas. PM me if you're interested.
Heres another good one. Its a 1979 FJ40. Unknown mileage. Its listed as green but from pics it looks gray. Although not sure this color is one of the originals. At least I've never seen it before. Looks too good so probably repainted. I have no affiliation, Im just passing on what I found. Im constantly on the prowl for my 1st ideal cruiser.
