Well this is kinda just a feeler for now. I have 2 fj40s that I don't have time for anymore and would like to get something more road and kid friendly. The first is the 1979 Blue fj40. It runs and drives good but the rear tub sucks. Has a clean title and is a complete rig. It has a 1.5f engine with a 2f carb and intake. Carb was recently rebuilt with all new gaskets and stuff. It has the petronics electronic ignition with msd box. Msd is located in glove box along with the Cobra CB so they don't get wet or muddy. Has 2in lift shackles from HFS. Has a rear Aussie locker and new Toyota fluids. Has brand new 33-12.5-15 Mastercraft Couiser MT on black wagon wheels. Also have a WARN 8274 that was on front but I have upgraded with heavy duty...

1974 (11/73) FJ40. Unrestored, unmolested, pretty damn complete. If you've ever had to deal with someone else's "restoration", you know haw nice it is to have one that's honest. It's my daily driver (and only vehicle in the state), so you can feel pretty good about it's ability to start, run, drive, and stop every time without drama. Every button, knob, switch, etc. does what it did when it left the showroom.

I have two FJ40 projects and one has to go. So I'm keeping the '77 and selling this one. The motor is locked-up. It sat for a number of years. I've soaked the cylinders with marvel mystery oil but still not able to turn over. Crankcase has oil. Previous owner said it ran when parked - over 10 years ago....Said it needed a new carb. 3 speed on the floor. Has typical rust. Seats have been recovered. Includes a nice set of factory riveted steel wheels. I can delivery free within 50 miles of Tulsa. $1,800.00 firm. I would take a complete, decent top and/or stock steel wheels (welded type) as partial trade (for the '77....)

Fj40 Original Condition. it's rusty, Frame is very solid no accident damage,body tub could be fixed or reaplaced. the 2f Runs Very Strong(was Replaced With a new Toyota Engine in the 90s) My Uncle has owned it since 1984, it has sat in his yard since 2000 but he started it on occasion. I was saving this for a second project but my 1st project is going into a second year. One year longer than expected, and counting!
So, I need to sell this to someone that would like to take over and finish it up. I bought it from a guy in NE WA that started it and got it to the point that it sits in.
All rust was cut out. Underbody was POR15. You can see that the body has 3 or 4 spots where the rust was cut out to eliminate it. Small patches need to be welded on. Body is good otherwise. No rust in floor. No rust in fenders or rockers. Dash is original in good condition. Switches and knobs are original. There are a multitude of spare parts with it.

Bought this about 8 months ago as a project while business slowed during winter (I work for myself). Did some of the work, had some of the work done by a local Toyota mechanic. The idea was to have a good driver that could handle the trails but could still be driven on the street. It is just that.
