Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has a close to stock 40 with a vortec that they are looking to sell. minimal rust but other than that the only thing i really care about is the engine. i can do just about anything else my self as long as it hasn't been cut up or modified heavily.

I have for sale a 1977 Toyota FJ40 4.2L 3 speed. Its been given a new paint job and some mechanical work including new clutch kit, water pump and resurfaced flywheel. No title. I'm really just trying to get rid of it so please send me any offer you might have. I'm asking $4,000 OBO. What you see is what you get. I am new to this forum so please bear with me.
I wanted to offer something more affordable as most of my trucks have been either 1980 and above FJ40s or FJ43s. The benefit is it makes them more rare in the US market but also leads to higher prices.
After purchasing over 10 trucks I learned that condition trumps model year and options. One of my best trucks was a 1974 FJ43 in gray with F engine and 3 speed and manual steering.
This 1977 FJ40 here I believe is a similar truck and rather than put big tires on it and a soft top and correct vinyl interior and push the retail price to $30,000 I decided to offer it this way.
Truck is listed here on hemmings.com for $23900 FIRM but I would love to sell a truck to MUD member as I have not done so yet...

Up for sale is this 1975 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. While it may have that "petina" or "weathered" look to it, this 75' is in excellent mechanical condition and is more than halfway through the restoration process. The owner was working to restore it when they found a 71' FJ40 and decided to restore it instead of this 75'.

The FJ was purchased in 2013 after having been in a barn for 15-20 years in Del Norte, Colorado. There was a V8 engine installed, which was removed and replaced with a period-specific 1977 2F Toyota FJ40 engine...
Looking to get a boat this summer so my dream truck will have to make way for my dream boat. It's a 1976 LC FJ40, has power heated leather seats and a 120L tank under them. Not perfect but complete. Would need around 7500 USD to move her. I will post some more pictures when I get home tonight. Same one as in my avatar.

Just began looking to sell our 1974 FJ40, I'm hearing it may be like a diamond in the dust. It has been stored under cover in our barn. It sat for about 7 years without use, then in 2010 we got it running in less than a day by putting in a new battery, spark plugs, and some carborator cleaner. We know the fuel lines and gas tank should be replaced, that may be all it takes. We just had our second child and just know we don't have the time to get use of it so we want it to go to a good home. I made a photobucket account with pictures of it where it is (currently in a bay blocked by a dog kennel). If you need more photos, I can pull it out. It is all original, was given some diamond plate panels custom cut for it as a gift years...

I have this truck on consignment and I think it's a pretty darn good deal. I sold it last year for the owner in NM who had owned it for 20+ years. My 1977 2 owner rust free original bj40 is just around the corner from being completed and I need to make room. 1966 FJ40, corrugated top, fiber glass is shot, top is salvagable some missing parts like the passenger seat. No engine/t-case. Rust in the back pan right before the part under the doors. Definitely a project. I am trying to get the odd ball parts I have for it gathered up. Like the DS door handle latch, window. It is rough but a good base for a wheeler or a parts rig for your resto. I prefer to deal with a local sale.. $1500 and located near Medford and Grants Pass. Original black and yellow CA plates and pink slip.

I have a 73 fj40 with a chevy v8. it has the 3 spd. Runs great, sounds great. New holley 600, new intake and headers all last fall. New exhaust with flowmaster muffler. The tires and wheels were bought in early fall as well. I have several parts that come with the truck. The truck has some rust spots, rocker panel and rear panels are pretty bad, i have new panels that come with the truck. I do have a clean title in hand for this
This 72' would make a great trail rig or project. The original motor runs, the brakes and clutch need work as does everything else (it will drive up the trailer ramp). The front doors are exceptionally nice, it has a 6 point roll bar, stock front and rear heaters, 3 speed on the floor and a very nice stock front seat. Please note that the roll has been replaced and the rear bumper has been removed (these are older pictures). Antique 1975 Toyota Landcrusier FJ40. I bought it as a project to restore the body but will not have time although I use it as my daily driver but with a baby on the way, the jump seats are not ideal for a baby seat. It is a great candidate for a restore since it has a good core.
The bad: There is rust in the usual places as in under the Diamond Plating.
No idea of mileage
No A/C but that is what windows and kick vents are for
The Good: It has a Chevrolet 350 conversion that runs strong.
