I have a 1973 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser for sale. I acquired the vehicle a few years ago after my friend who owed it passed away. I was going to rebuild it but since my wife and I had our daughter this last year I've found I have little time to put into rebuilding it. It has a Chevrolet 350 V8 Conversion with a Muncie SM465 4-Speed Manual Transmission. It has the Toyota Transfer Case and Axles. I have the hard top for it. I do not have the doors. I have a new fuel tank and carburator (not installed). I also have a new aluminum radiator for it (not installed). The vehicle is located in Manteca CA. I'm asking $5,000 for the vehicle. 1969 FJ40 (early). 3 on the column – dash button actuated transfer – under dash lever for transfer gears = No sticks or holes on the floor. Hard top with (w) doors all parts & glass – rear split tailgate w lift up glass / bikini top & soft doors / all 5 hub caps / 4 stock rims & 4 10X15 aluminums (needs ½ spacer or mod. frnt. ball joint to fit front). Original engine needs re-ring, engine apart, head checks good. Rancho shocks / front seat reupholstered in boat canvas & vinyl / roll cage / powerful older CB radio

SOA w/ cut and turn, Hi-steer,shackle reversal, RuffStuff anti-wrap bar. 4WDB, 55 series rear springs, Sag. pwr. strg., cage, 8274 winch w/ synthetic line, hi-lift jack, sliders and very little rust. No sign of rust under the diamond plate corners, clean sill, floor pans and fenders. I've included pics of the rust it does have, it runs great with no smoke or overheating issues. 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. This vehicle has been in AZ and California it's entire life. I moved back to the east coast and it was trailered here. I've owned it for 8 years and probably put 400-500 miles on it. It sat in a garage in AZ most of the time. It has zero rot and very solid body.
The Good: Chevy small block 350 from 64-67 Vette (this is a guess but 99% positive due to the alternator bracket mounting to the headers), 4 speed tranny with creeper gear (i apologize for not knowing which tranny), ARB air lockers front and rear with on board air professionally installed by 4wheel parts in AZ, 33'' tires with brand new spare, rock sliders, new starter/alternator/shocks, holley...

It is a solid rig with 15k + in receipts and has been stored since 2000. It has the original 6cy with the 4speed manual transmission, runs excellent with no oil leaks and has 112k original miles. Disc brakes with new front calipers. No power steering, no A/C, stops runs and drives very well... Never wrecked and No rust, was painted the original single stage color
and is in very nice condition. All original glass including original windshield! FJ40's in this condition is very hard to find!!

I’m selling my 1972 FJ40. I’ve had the truck since May 1997. It is an outstanding trail truck! Body has a few scratches, dents and minor rust; rear sill has some rust. Front fenders have bottoms trimmed and replaced with rubber; trimmed and reinforced rocker panels. Amazing articulation!!

After having this FJ40 since 2003, I have decided to sell to someone that might be able to restore it. Rare FJ25 style softtop body. Originally found by Lone Star Land Cruiser founding member Butch Baker, who sold it to another club member, who sold to Nolan Grogan, and then me. Body is solid, with two coats of paint over original white color. Missing transfer/transmission, but I will include another set that came out of a 1962 FJ40. Has original engine, but don't know condition, as I've never tried to run it. Missing tailgate (Nolan took it), but do have the softtop doors (no fabric). No bows.

I have a 2/79 FJ40 for sale, I had planed on doing a frame off resto on this cruiser, but time and finances are not what they use to be. The engine was running stronger then any 2f I have ever used before when I pulled the wiring harness to take off the tub. The body had some cancer on the passenger side under the door, and the rear sill is toast as seen in the pictures. The PO for some reason put a plate over the bed, I can't see why, but I never got around to removing it. Hello I have a Fj40 that I am selling I purchased it for the engine and no longer need the rest, the previous owner told me it is a 75 however I am unable to conferm it it has a good frame, the hard top is good, doors, hood, etc are good however the tub is rusted bad. it has no engine, but it does come with the tranny and such the previous owner said the electrical was shot and I also believe this to be true, I do not realy know what to ask for it but I would like to get at least $500 it is located in Okotoks alberta ( very close to Calgary alberta Canada) you will have to arrange shipping I may be able to deliver all depending but we will have to work that out. it is currently half taken apart and full of junk as seen in the pictures...

I have a 1973 fj40. Has a 302 ford with a 4 speed ford tranny behind it. First off frame is in very good shape no holes. Top is good and all the windows have no cracks. Body needs work. With regret I'm selling my 1975 FJ40, have used it as a daily driver on and off for the last 10 years but have recently acquired a BJ42 so this one must go. Vehicle has been well maintained, major services performed by Mudrak in Sonoma and maintenance items by myself. Vehicle is in solid shape, starts every time, has never failed me and turns over like a top. Some minor surface rust poking through here and there (see photos) but generally the body is in good shape for a 40 year old vehicle. Only cancerous spot is on the inside of the vehicle in part of the rain gutter (pictured), but the few times I have had this out in the rain it has been water tight. Strong 2F engine with webber carb, DUI HEI distributor. De-smogged. Header.
H41 4speed transmission with granny 1st gear from Oz. Split shifters on transfer case. Also has a crawl box with extra low range. Disc parking brake on drive shaft.
Rear axle is a FJ60/62 Full floating axle from Oz with 4.10 gears and ARB air locker. Drum brakes.
Front axle is FJ40 with disc brakes, spacers at wheels to match width of rear. 4.10 gears with ARB air locker. I also was told it has upgrade chromoly inner axles and birfields from Longfield.

Bought it 5 years ago from a guy that brought it back form California. I desmogged it when I first bought it. Still have all the emissions equipment that was pulled off including the carb. Currently runs a bit rough but will Idle all day. When I put the Trollhole Carb and Dizzy on I only set initial timing, I'm sure in the right hands it should be an easy fix considering it ran fine on the Weber carb I had on it previously. I removed the Weber due to a shot diaphragm. Idles nice and cool with good oil pressure. Comes with many spare parts. Also comes with an old Warn 8274.

Selling a 1981 FJ40 in Dallas, TX that is probably not worth restoring (or at least it's more than I'm willing to take on). It's a low mileage engine, but it's not running so I can't attest to its true condition. The interior is in decent shape and I'm not aware of anything important that is missing. In addition to what you see pictured, it comes with 5 original wheels. $3000 OBO.

I am reluctantly selling my FJ40 due to a relocation with work. I am asking $16,000. I have owned this FJ 40 for 2 years and have kept it garaged the entire time. The previous owner also kept it garaged in Texas. This FJ 40 has been a real pleasure to drive and have. There is very little rust on the vehicle and it is mechanically sound. I do not have the hard top and am selling it as is with the bikini top. This FJ is sprung over and has new wheels and tires. The original F engine has good compression and the original 4 speed transmission works well. The rhino lining on the interior was done by the previous owner.
