'78 FJ40 - As Featured in Toyota 4WD Magazine
Well guys - it pains me to write this, but after many years of deliberation and putting the decision off, I'm selling Clifford. He's been sitting at my moms place in Portland Oregon for the last 5 years while I've been traveling and living in different places (now in San Francisco). My mother is moving to Mexico, and parking in SF makes zero sense, so it's time for me to find him a home that will care for him more than I can right now. As many of you know, I have over $25k in receipts, he's been in Toyota 4WD Magazine, and I've had offers at the $30k mark, HOWEVER - he's been sitting outside for the last 5 years, and has only been run a few times over that time span. His battery is dead, some of the paint is cracking a bit near the...
Hi guys, I am looking for my first fj40 and have found one local on Craigslist. Just wondering what everyone thinks? Good deal, a little high, about right. I took a look at it today and said I would let him know in a bit...It is in really nice shape. The tub is not original as it was replaced and is now made out of 1/4 inch steel. Back has a tailgate that latches. Everything works, and has soft top and bikini top. I would have love a hard top as I'm in the Northeast and looking for a daily drive in great shape, but I can do without one....My budget is 12k max. He's a little above, but figured there was room to move. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 1975 Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser
Mud Member price $6500 Will be listed again on ebay tonight 03/17 with a buy it now price of 8250. Listed here is a 1980 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. Being a 1980 Landcruiser they include desirable late model changes and are becoming harder and harder to locate. The biggest changes were gear ratios being 3:73s instead of previously 4:11s giving better freeway speed capabilities. Along with fuel tank relocation now underneath the cab, instead of interior. Also a hand brake on the floorboard instead of on the dash. This 1980 FJ40 was built December of 1979. To the best of my knowledge in reviewing it's documents provided, this is a California car its whole life. This Landcruiser does not have factory air conditioning or factory power...

'79 FJ40 - daily driver ready with 2F, AC, PS, hardtop, ambulance doors
I'm selling my 1979 FJ40. Condition: Car passes Texas inspection every year without issues Odometer reads 72k 2F motor runs well. Motor was replaced at 45k (per previous owner). I add a quart between oil changes. No fluid leaks. Factory power steering works great. Steers tight, no wandering 4WD works great Factory installed AC blows cool. But you're going to sweat if you're driving this car when it's 90 outside Paint looks like it was done 10 years ago. There is minor rust in a few of the usual spots but no serious perforation (see photos). The rust doesn't seem to have gotten any worse since I bought the car 6 years ago Smog hoses appear to have been removed by previous owners Stereo head unit works fine Battery dies if...
I'm in Chicago and looking for a good FJ-40. Would be using it as weekend city driving to run errands and go camping with, probably no off road. Occasional camping with kids. Would love AC, PS and any other modernized features. Need reliability more than anything and willing to pay fair price if the right one is found. TIA
