FOR SALE: 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40 Soft-Top. I bought this car as you see it in the photos from a gentleman in Sheridan, WY. He lovingly and painstakingly restored it to its current condition. I bought it several years ago and I keep it stored at my place in Twin Bridges, MT. It is driven just several days per year in the summer – maybe a total of 300-400 miles per year. I am selling it because 1.) It is never driven, and 2.) I want the space for a sports car I recently purchased.

96 lx450, 220k on 1fz, head gasket was done at Lexus stealership at 200k, trans shifts strong, factory diff locks engage on the fly, low and hi range both work perfectly, all power options work. Has new rotors, and calipers, all the way around, new battery, new alternator, new radiator, new o² sensors, all fluids been baselined, ome 2.5 lift, custom 2.5" spring spacers in the front...

I am in the process of importing a 1975 BJ40 from Costa Rica. Original 4 cylinder diesel is in great condition, as is the interior (seats are new and close to originals). I was hoping you learned Cruiser Experts could help in determining what would be a reasonable asking price for the vehicle in the event that I decide not to keep it as a personal vehicle... a few dings and here and there but overall in great condition. This is a rectangular wire brush that can be trimmed to fit INSIDE an FJ40 frame.
I bought two, used one to prep for paint and it worked great.

The engine runs strong, I have to replace a gasket between the carb and intake manifold, (has a small exhuast leak) but still runs good. Front fenders and rear tub areas have been repaired and the overall body is damn straight, but will eventually need a coat of paint to get it all the same color. Comes with a spare tire as well and new upholtery on the rear jump seats. I'm asking $7,500 obo please call me/text me for further pics. Thanks 909-952-1037, or cmconsultinginc.lv@gmail.com

Always garaged kept and over $12,000 (with receipts) in recent mechanical restoration from ACC, including 5-BFG 32x10.50 tires (1,000 miles on tires). Many new OEM parts as well. Original Freeborn Red that has been touched up by original owner. Smog equipment removed.

I was in Questa, New Mexico a couple months ago and discovered a late 60's early 70's FJ40 sitting in a yard. The owner was not home but I asked around and the neighbors indicated everything this guy has is for sale. Anyways, I don't want to have a bunch of people hassling him if it is not for sale so PM me if you are interested and I will send you a name and number for the owner. It is in bad shape, but the climate has been reasonably easy on it given the storage conditions. Rust in most of the expected places, but not the worst that is for sure.

I must admit this is my first post on any kind of forum so I hope I got it in the right place.
I recently moved to Cambridge, MA from Nairobi, Kenya where I'd lived for several years. In the process I had to say goodbye to my Land Rover Defender. A much loved G4 that had been on many safaris, camping trips and amazing experiences, once even being charged by a rhino in Nairobi national park.
After I realised that importing it was never going to happen I looked at defenders in the US, but none of them could ever live up to the one I had and instead of trying to recapture something something past I figured I'd look for something new. I've always thought the FJ40 was one of the best looking little 4X4s and had my eye on owning one...
1978 FJ 40 I have had for 6 years. Daily driver when I drive. Juggling too many other things and I hate to see it just sitting around.
Not a car guy so hit me with any questions about info I may have missed below.
- Clear Colorado title. Vehicle is in Colorado Springs
- Odometer is working and shows 21937 so I would guess that is 121937.
- 305 SBC with 3 speed auto
