I'm interested! This run was the gateway drug for me....

Our baby is due Dec 24th but who knows when she'll come into this world. If she's here, I'm in! I might bring my 4 year old too.

If she's born the day she's due, you're in for a lifetime of fun with a xmas baby. My, soon to be, 23 year old baby boy was born on the 23rd! He wasn't due until mid January, so we had a nice xmas gift under the tree that year!! We were planning on finishing our shopping that fateful day!

Congrats and best of luck!! Being close to xmas myself and having had an OB/GYN dad who doled out advice on xmas babies (using me as an example  ), just be sure to treat birthday parties, etc. separate from xmas so your child doesn't feel slighted for 'combined' gifts. :D

Sounds like a reunion run to me! I'll let you know if I can attend as we get closer to the date.

Great advice Brent! Thanks :cheers::beer:

I too am a xmas baby being born on the 22nd. She will not be getting "combined" gifts.

Eric - sorry for the temporary derailment - lets get back to talking about manly stuff like trucks and rocks!!!:flipoff2:

Wow, looks like there is a bit of interest.

Next week works better for me as the kids will still be in school. Pretty much any day but Wednesday. What day works for everyone?

Congrats on the baby Mike! The wife is letting you out of the house?

We're getting the band back together

If I can make it, after Christmas will be better for me, but depends on reaching a project milestone at work by 12/31.

I'd like to go. Just have to figure out & fix these vibes after installing J springs first.

DC front drive shaft and LT's rear lower control arms took care of mine.

Thanks! She doesn't know it yet but yes!;)

After Christmas works best for me, but don't let me dictate when you guys go. My status is completely up in the air.

Well, if after Christmas works better for everyone I can try to make it happen. I have some work to do on the truck that I was going to knock out that week but I can do that some other time.

Anyone else?

I 'might' be taking the week between christmas and new years off and may be game. Three days of vacation and away from the office for 13 days total! Gotta love that. We get both Mon and Tues off for both of the holidays.

Are we talking a day trip or overnight?

Day trip for me, but you guys are welcome to camp. I think there a some cool spots in the area.

Had some questions as to the level of difficulty. For the most part it's pretty mild. There are a couple of spots that have some pucker factor, but most of the rocks you see have bypasses.

There are only four spots that I would even consider mentionable:

-The final little trail going up to Elliot Mine

-The hill going along the border fence (just before where Mark says he sprained his wrist). It's a little tippy.

-The rock on the left going down to Mountain Spring (the one Steve is driving over).

-The tight switchback going to Carrizo Overlook.

We may not even do Mountain Spring depending on time, as I consider Elliot Mine and Carrizo Overlook the highlights of this area.

I'd like to join in if this is a after x-mas run. I will likely take on of the kids and do a overnighter in Borrego.

I have ordered them, awaiting arrival. Figured I'd do it right
Btw- which skid plate did we put on your 80? Is that the same one Derrick has? I forgot who made yours and his.
Also, do you have a 90 degree drill, like the the Landtank instructions call for? If so, can I borrow it?

Looks like my only free day after Christmas is Thursday or Saturday. I was hoping for Friday, but looks like that's not going to happen.

How about Saturday, Dec 29?

Updated first post with official run info. Post up if you can make it.

My cruiser is not up and running at the moment, but my brother in law is in town with his Tacoma. I was wondering if it would be ok to bring his truck out there. It's a 2012 TRD packaged crewcab shortbed with a 3" lift and 33". If you guys think that his truck won't have an issue we are in.

Pretty sure you won't have any issues. It just depends on how comfortable he is driving on narrow shelf roads. There is one spot in particular that has a very sharp switchback on a narrow shelf road, and requires at least a 3 point turn. The longer wheelbase of the tacoma may be an issue here, but if he's a seasoned driver, I'm pretty sure we'll be able to get you through.

There may be a couple of spots with tight brush, so you may get some light pinstriping. Haven't been out there in a couple of years, so not sure what the brush is like at the moment.

Is is locked?
