:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby: I don't think I'll have my truck back by then. :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

Count me in!

cool

I might be back in time for this run. I don't have a locker but I have faith. Probably count me in too. Do you have any pics of the pucker spots?

Looks like a fun trip. Wish I could join you guys but that would be a long trip from north OC.

Since it gets dark early these days, I would like to be at the trailhead by 8:30AM or so. This means leaving San Diego by ~7:30AM

Hey I have done some of that un-lifted and un-locked! I have the same photo...

This trail was a walk in the park compared to following Steve 619Toy through Sidewinder in Buckman Springs.

Most of it is pretty mild, but there are some spots that you may need a locker. There is a nasty switchback on a narrow shelf road that requires a three-point turn even for small rigs. It is doable in a larger rig, but it would require some confidence and good driving. Last time I did it, I had a front tire hanging over the edge. :whoops: Unfortunately I don't have a picture.

You won't have a problem. I don't plan on doing a couple of the rougher spots (see below). You may need a tug in one or two areas, but it's not a problem. You may get a little pin-stripping though...

Yes, most of it is fairly mild. There are a few spots that are a little challenging. That's what makes it fun.

Here is a fun spot. You have to drive up the side pretty far and get off camber to avoid this rock. The picture does not do justice:

Unless you are a guy named Steve, then you just drive over it:

Here are a couple more shots of the pucker areas:

This one is completely optional:

Why would you NOT go to Mammoth! They are getting dumped on with the white stuff!

And I am cabin commited to go to Big Bear this weekend where they are getting RAIN! :bang::bang::bang::bang:

For all the last minute people out there, we plan on meeting up at the Carl's Jr on Tavern Rd in Alpine at 8:00. Editing first post as well...

cool

Did Steve come down on his sliders, or was the WB short enough? That might be fun for my truck...

Pretty sure he came down on his sliders. We don't have to do that part of the trail, in fact I wasn't planning on it. The only section you may have trouble with is the really tight switchback and a few ledges here and there.

So this ride got bumped to Thursday, huh?

I should be able to make that one!

I think it was always on Thursday. I hope I didn't put a different day somewhere.

I think maybe the title is deceptive:confused:

I'd still like to make it but don't think I can swing the day off:crybaby:

And yes, I did come down on the sliders, no problem though:D

I had it in my calendar as Thursday from the 17th, just before I left town.

I have no sliders so that will remain your line only Steve!:D

Quite possibly. Maybe I should have said "After Christmas and before New Years Jacumba Run" :hhmm:

Sorry to hear about work Steve, hopefully the boss will feel really generous after Christmas and give everyone the day off, with pay.

I'm going. Looks like some really cool scenery so worth a 2 hour drive for me.
