Made some shock mounts for the 7100's. Should be a lot nicer than the stock shocks with the OME lift.

Cut the pieces out of a section of 1/4" wall rectangular tubing.

Not yet, I need to make the mounts for the front. That shouldn't take much time at all though.

I have a midterm coming up, so they will have to wait till next week!

Nice setup, any worry about catching that lower on rocks that seems ot be common with the stock setup? How are you going to protect that shock shaft from flying rocks on gravel roads?

I cut off the stock mount on the bottom so if I did hit it on rocks it would at least keep the bolt from getting smashed. The mount should take some abuse, and I mostly do desert stuff so the rocks arent too often.

I never had issues with rocks when I had them on the Rover. I do see what youre saying though, have others on here done anything to protect shocks from gravel roads? Other than adding a rubber boot I cant think of anything else...

not a damn thing and they're in great shape after many miles of wheeling. Nice job BTW

Good luck on the mid term.

Once you get back to fab'ing, let me know if you want to make a set of mounts for me and how much I should send you.

The 7100's are great shocks and cost alot less that the King and Fox shocks.

Looks good. Really smooth weld and fab. I hate to say it, but i have seen other attemps here that look like booty fab.

Truck rides great!

When I built the rear mounts, I wanted to have the bolt running perpendicular to the stock orientation so I wouldnt have to worry about rocks. As it is now, if I drag it over a rock the mount will take the force and not the bolt head.

Im hoping to take it out and flex the front to see what it can do. The stock shocks had barely any travel at all after the lift.

What length shocks? Regular or short body?
