Tourist- Idaho tag.Overdue posting this 62 I saw a while back in Cotswold Shopping Center. One of the cleanest 60 series wagons I've seen.

It’s just a little mini dobinsons sticker if you’re talking about my truck above^^^ That's just hot. What does the grill say on the top right?
very nice; is that '95/96ish?? can't remember the first year the 3rd brake lights were on the roof like that... Probably don't have to tell you but beware of the 3.0 v6, they are the least desirable. 4 cyl or find a newer 3.4l
The 3VZ-E (3.0 v6) is a much maligned engine. It was under-powered (still more power than the 22RE) and had head gasket issues, but Toyota replaced the head gaskets free of charge. So, as long as they've had the head gasket campaign done, I wouldn't say there's anything to "beware" of. My 24 year-old 3VZ-E is running strong at 199k miles, having had the head gasket campaign replacement at 40k miles, even though the HG never showed signs of failure. The only thing I've had to do to the engine other than maintenance is replace the A/C compressor when the pulley bearing went bad, but that was probably due to mud/abuse. I even hydrolocked the engine once, before the snorkel, but it was fine after pulling the plugs and cranking it over to blow the water out.
So, while the 22RE or the later 5VZ-FE (3.4 v6) are preferable, I'd hardly say anyone has to "beware" of the 3VZ-E. The youngest ones are almost 25 years old. If it's still running, I'd say it's doing its job nicely.![]()
