Royal(?) Blue 40 with white flares and wagon wheels. Antique NC tag at the corner of Ardrey Kell and 521 825p Monday 30 September. Anyone??

Photo dump from this past week in Huntsville. We picked a good neighborhood, I Saw these within a few blocks of my house. I bet there’s 20 100’s and 5 200’s in the same distance. White 100’s are popular.

very nice; is that '95/96ish?? can't remember the first year the 3rd brake lights were on the roof like that... Probably don't have to tell you but beware of the 3.0 v6, they are the least desirable. 4 cyl or find a newer 3.4l

Spotted this sweet GX at Forest Ridge Park in N Raleigh last night, see it there pretty often

@Pick I did not. Thank you for the heads up! Great looking GX.

The 3VZ-E (3.0 v6) is a much maligned engine. It was under-powered (still more power than the 22RE) and had head gasket issues, but Toyota replaced the head gaskets free of charge. So, as long as they've had the head gasket campaign done, I wouldn't say there's anything to "beware" of. My 24 year-old 3VZ-E is running strong at 199k miles, having had the head gasket campaign replacement at 40k miles, even though the HG never showed signs of failure. The only thing I've had to do to the engine other than maintenance is replace the A/C compressor when the pulley bearing went bad, but that was probably due to mud/abuse. I even hydrolocked the engine once, before the snorkel, but it was fine after pulling the plugs and cranking it over to blow the water out.

So, while the 22RE or the later 5VZ-FE (3.4 v6) are preferable, I'd hardly say anyone has to "beware" of the 3VZ-E. The youngest ones are almost 25 years old. If it's still running, I'd say it's doing its job nicely. :)

@Fort Knox Did not mean to imply they were bad just caution to the things you mentioned above. I had a 2nd Gen 4Runner before my 80 and liked it. The knock sensor was a PAIN to do but all-in-all a good vehicle. No shade to the 3vze, just the 22RE and 3.4 are much more popular and therefore parts are more readily available as well as cheaper.

Should have clarified that in my post...

Thank you. This truck would sit at the coast as a work truck. I will ask him if it is for sale.

Swapping in a AFM from a cressida also is supposed to really wake it up

Awesome - I would take those 3 over the new vette.

well yes the resale value of those 3 vs one vette is much higher
