yes, this is a newbe tire and wheel question

first i have done a search for this, second i have talked with my tire guy, third i know nothing about tire and wheel size.
can you put 33*9.5*15 or 33*10.5*15 on stck wheels of a 79 fj40? if so are there any issues to deal with (tirepressure, rubbing?) this is for on road use only. my tire guy said no, but 31*10.5*15 would fit. however i have seen many fjs on this site with them on. i have a 2.5 lift as well. also what would be the biggest tires that would fit the stock wheel comfortably?
thanks to all who help

I have 33x9.5 on stock steel wheels, 2.5" lift and no problems. It's a great look. Little rub on extreme left hand turn where pitman arm connects to drag link, but no binding and you're going so slow (or should be) you won't even notice.
FWIW, tire guy told me he couldn't mount tubeless tires on my riveted rims. He did not get my money and I've never had any air loss.
