Yellowjacket nest eradication

So I googled bald face hornets and it's known by many names, bald face aerial yellow jacket, black jacket and a few others. Around here we just call it a hornets nest. They're thru out North America.

This is what I typically see for each. The wasps can either be in ground or in corners around the house. Our well house and the very old 1940s house in our yard are very popular for the smaller black wasps. I rarely get anything out of the house which we use for storage unless early in morning. This winter we will pull all the exterior siding off as we demo it. Gonna be interesting to see what we find.

I typically do a drive by on the well house with wasp spray for cheap fun and a sick sense of satisfaction when I see those little bastards fall.

Up till this year I haven’t experience a sting for last 10+ years. Last week driving out I bee landed on my chest, I flicked it where it promptly landed on my calf and I was promptly stung with the little s*** leaving his butt hanging.

Couple weeks ago while driving through pasture on my 4 wheeler out of the blue something sting the hell out of me on the left leg. I suspect a wasp or another bee was having a bad day.

Brake kleaner!!! Instant death.

Thinking flaming arrows for the nests up high, followed by firehose to help knock nest down and put out the fire…

These 2 (minus the hornets) are hanging in my barn. 😊

The nest was from the Yellowjackets. Most Yellowjacket nests here in Oregon are in the ground.

This is a Wasp nest. Wasps dangle their legs when they fly. As it turns out after eradicating the Yellowjacket nest Thursday night, I go to work and needed to move some things to pull a well pump on a job. Pulled a stake with yard decoration and felt a sting. The yard decoration had a hole and inside was a wasp nest. My arm is still swollen from the sting Friday morning.

It’s extreme fire danger here in Oregon… that’d be stupid😵💥🔨

I have been following this thread from the beginning. I occasionally have a ground nest of yellow jackets in my yard. Today as I was cutting grass (when I usually find them) my spidey senses were on high alert! I have had too many run ins with those things!!

I had a friend who was deer hunting one freezing winter morning when he ran across a huge hornet‘s nest.He cut it down and placed it in his Bronco and went back to hunting. When he returned to go home the insides of his windows were covered with pissed off hornets. The sun had raised the temperature enough to bring the hornets out of hibernation…..
