Austin isn't that big of a town. If we were all in Htown, I can see where locating on one side/end of town or the other would make a difference, but not here.

You must have never driven to Edwin's old shop location in Hutto.

Edwin, whats your mobile? I have an update for you on office space.

What about N. Burnet area, south of Braker/Rutland....near Austin Bolt and Sportsmobile. Seems like there are several "shop" type places in that area. Something might be open and already be set up for shop use.

I think the best thing for you is to locate near your demographic. Stay away from east and dint go too fat south.

If the Hancock, burnet or northloop location does not pan out, I would say go towards 183 north of arboretum. It's north but it is easy to access for anyone in Austin. We had success converting an old unused service station into a shop and storefront, but I am not sure that type of frontage will be affordable for you. There are plenty of easy access side roads off 183.

I think your real demographic is southwest Austin, central cedar park, west, north and CP/RR/Leander . That is pretty in the middle for all of those.

I probably would never drive out to hutto...

You should probably hit up Cam and see what he thought of his move up north. I think its worked out for the best, but there was some transitional headaches. He was in South Austin, so moving up to CP was a big jump.

I'll keep an eye out for spaces around here. I know its south, but what became of the old Jeep Master's location?

Can u rent some space in an existing shop?

The shop doesn't look occupied right now, I drive by it everyday on the way home. But I think it would be a real stetch for Edwin coming and going. But that would be a decision for Edwin. I can look again this afternoon on my way home. ...

ya i think the old JM place would be too far south. i have looked at about 5 central spots and all of them have told me NO AUTO. i will start looking alittle bit more north.
i glad to see most are saying north cause i am coming from RR. i will keep ya'll posted if i find some thing & please do the same.
Edwin

There is a place up near me Edwin, I think they have some space and they take autos. Oddly, I wonder why landlords dont like Auto? Maybe Brent can answer that

Too bad in between all of us, we can't come up with an old/recenty vacated car dealership type place, that has several bays and office/show room type set up.....like the old Hummer dealership close to RR!!!! Only NOT QUITE that big obviously. May try looking in the more industrial areas of town....

That would be way cool, but probably very expensive to rent. Seems like there should be something available north on Burnet Road, although I still think being next door to Billy's would have it's advantages. Such as, uh,:beer::beer:

Found one.

Burnett just south of the bowling alley at 183. Has a new leasing sign. I think it was a pawn shop or a use tire place. 2 bays on side.

There also is a mechanics "park" across the street from there on a side street.

are you talking about that red building? i drove by there a few days ago and did not see a sign. i will have to drive back by there. thanks
i did talk to a guy that is looking for me (broker). will see what he come up with.

Already pointed it out above.

LoopNet - 8605 Burnet Rd, Office Showroom, 8605 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX

Did there used to be a tire and wheel store there? Or is that further down the road?

Looks like the old ghetto wheel shop. There may be a stockpile of 24" chrome rims with spinners stashed in the back room.
