Anyone tried this? An edge case for sure, but here's my use case.
Sometimes I want to run 78" crossbars and double stack roof boxes. (I've lots of kids.) With the OEM rails, this can done with Yakima Timberline towers and crossbars.
At other times I'll want to remove the Yakima bars and have a overlanding foundation for jerry cans and recovery gear.
So here's my question: Has anyone mounted Yakima towers to side rails that come with Prinsu, ARB base, LFD, etc?
To me this would be a maximally modular system.
I suspect the Timberline towers would not work, but perhaps there are other towers that would -- like those for flush roof rails.
I reached out to Prinsu and LFD, but they've never seen it or tried.
Currently planning to add LFD ruggedized bars to my OEM rack, which will still give me the option to put Yakimas on and really load it up. The downside is the weight limit for the OEM rails and limitations of attachment points on the outside of the rails.
Thanks!
