The truck is home.

We weren't able to get it until after five. Monday is a busy day for them because no one wants to pay the weekend rate so they wait for the week to begin. Got the truck loaded up nice and easy. The damn thing filled the flat bed.

I have not attempted anything on the yet. I have a lot of searching and FSM research ahead of me though.

If anyone is interested I have an unused tree permit. Let me know if you would like it. We will be fine without a tree this year.

Ron,

That'll buff right out. :D

TrickyT has the answer to the issues--I'm almost positive...check the thread again. Get ready to do some wiring tomorrow. Your alternator is fine. Trust me. Call me in the AM. Let's get this done.

When he left to go home I failed to secort him past the dogs and Kelly latched onto his leg...

Onur,

I don't know how bad your leg is, but if your leg starts giving you trouble (ie infection) let me know. I know a guy who deals in this sort of stuff.:flipoff2:

:lol::lol:

It's not too bad....4 teeth worth. They've all scabbed over and I'm not frothing at the mouth (yet) and going insane (not evidently so)....though if I do, "your guy" is indeed the first I will turn to....

That explains why he asked me to recommend an attorney.

I think the big message was that ham radio would have helped immeasurably. The Big Hero award goes to George for going back to Santa Fe to get the snowmobiles.

I do have a video of Ali winching the FJCruiser free that I'll post up when I have some time (and a place to do it to). I need to edit the back half off - it's 120 MB and I got so excited half of it is just pointing in the air after the action was over... (anybody have any recommendations on a program to do that?) The FJ Cruiser actually came out pretty easily after it broke the ice which was holding it in place - when it cooled down overnight the ice locked it in place. Once we broke that big ice cube holding it to the ground it popped right out.

Windows 98/XP has a tool called "Windows movie maker". Its a free program, and gives you some basic editing tools to add titles, background music, clip, etc. When you are done, it can convert it to a much smaller wmv. If you have any trouble, give me a call, and we can arrange for you to send it to me (online), and i'll edit for you.

12/08 Snotel Data

Perhaps this thread will eventually melt away (and I'm not helping let it do so :flipoff2:),
but I tho't I'd share with you the Snotel snow accumulation data (from the site that Steve posted) for that infamous day, for the 3 Jemez/Nacimiento Mtns sites:

Quemazon (above Los Alamos--9500') 12/08 0400 = 0.3", 1700 = 8.8"

Senorita#2 (8600') 12/08 0200 = 1.0", 1700 = 10"

Vacas Locas (9306') 12/08 0200 = 1.0", 1700 = 13.6"

Alls I know was that while we'se guys were taking out/off - puttin in/on batteries, tow straps, winch cables, chains, snow pants (Steve), it was a-comin' down!

Helluva xmas tree run. As Windy sang, "oh, the weather outside is frightful..." HAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Here is the JPG of the tree run, and the kmz for Google Earth.

Map with track
Google File with Track

Looking at Google Earth, there is a road that heads northeast from just below where we parked Rory that continues up to highway 4. It also shows a network of roads along the way. Looks like a good road up to the point where it goes into the crappy image. Google Earth also shows the "short cut" Steve pointed out.

Wow - Google Earth has new high definition pictures of the area that show a *bunch* of trails to the east...

My bad too. Looking at the topo those two roads don't meet. You are right, though. You can see individual pine trees.

... yarmulke...

Jon, Jill says you had to have used spell check to spell that right!:flipoff2: Dan spelled menorah and dreidel wrong. Dan, you need to go to Yeshiva to learn a few things before you can convert.:D

Ya ... So ... What's her point. :grinpimp:

Actually, for the record I didn't even try to spell it. I think I Google'd something like "Jewish hat."
