I'm in Tampa and have been flirting with letting my '88 FJ62 go (I've had it since 2006 originally a CA truck). It got a 5.3L Vortec transplant back in 2016 and has numerous mods/upgrades that make it a bit more fun/reliable to drive (though I'm sure many would question the reliability of the Chevy engine vs. the Toyota). It's not perfect, though - it could use fresh paint and attention to various small body rust spots. That said, with your budget you could get this to where YOU want it, no problem, all in.
