  • Looking for a nice clean in any non dark color, prefer white
  • prefer stock, but mild builds also considered but not looking for beat trail rig (not that there's anything wrong with that)
  • prefer 150K miles or thereabouts
  • lockers - why not, but not mandatory
  • budget - up to $8900
PM me if you know of anything or your rich neighbor wants to make room in their garage
Thanks
JT

Youve just described the most popular 80 . I think there are always several people scanning thier instant CL notifications feverishly for this exact rig. While patience is a virtue and you should be able to find something locally if you act super fast, Ive seen alot of folks venture into CA and buy and drive them back where - at times - it seems like a more abundant supply.

I saw a clean 40th anniversary up in Flag yesterday that was very cheap but the ad was pulled within the same day. It almost looked to good to be true for the very low price they had listed (Enterconnect showed it to me and we both got to drooling uncontrollably) ...might of been a scam anyway....?

Good luck, hope you find your dream rig. Keep us posted on your "hunt"!

Thanks Murf. Hopefully the right one will come along...someday :) Yeah, I search all the usual sources and get notifications. I've traveled to TX to bring one back before, so I don't mind going out of state to extend the search. I saw that one in Flag and do believe it was a scam. There is guy up there with a 40th for sale, but I think he is asking $12K :( Btw, I had a 40th once. It was most expensive vehicle I had ever purchased at the time. It was 2001 when I bought it, so 4 years old, had 16K miles on it when I bought it for $36K. It was perfect, and oh yeah, it was locked too. Wish I had that one back too.

Blatant, I see my old cruiser each week, and as much as I do miss it, the older gentlemen who bought it loves it. He had no idea what the world of Land Cruisers was about, and too see him smile the way he does is worth it to me.

The one I wish I had back was my white locked 95. It was a sweetie and I sold in a moment of insanity. Idiot I am.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled.

It was my 88 FJ62. Another gone that I still wish I had. :)

The one up in northern Nevada?

Yeah Reno. He sent me receipts for the motor that was put in. Has 97 Lexus axles and is fully locked, pretty much new everything mechanically. Will need some interior work but that's about it.

Seems like a real nice and honest guy. I traded extensive emails with Mark about that rig. I was looking for something slightly different but could be a great rig if that's the sweet spot you're looking to itch. Can't say it was a bargain, but very fair based on what he had into it.

From what I can tell most 80's locked with 200,000ish miles sell between 5500-6000$, so 8000$ seems very reasonable to me with all the work done, lifted etc. but people value things differently.

yes, reasonable indeed.

Still patiently searching...keep your eyes peeled for a nice 80 please :)
