With all the furious Cruiser work going on I thought I'd add to the plie. :)
I got my tail pipe piece today. Also got the hoses, etc., that I'll need to
switch the heat exchangers from the 60 to the 40. The 40's burst and I
just haven't gotten around to mailing the bad one out west for a replacement
so I'm putting the 60's on the 40 so as to have showers at Tellico.
I also got some nifty hot water pressure hoses to use for the pickup and
shower hoses. I'm having a custom one made for the shower head end.
I still need to grease the zillion zerks of Gundy.
I'll be pulling out the camping gear this week too. What to take?
I'm thinking medium tent with queen size air mattress and frame.
No need to do the food stores.....Thank you Marshall.
No ovens, portable kitchen, grills etc will make for some light packing.
I won't need Yodel for this one. ;)
Snacks and adult beverages will be a snap to carry.
Guess I'll pack spare birfields w/ axles.....long and short along
with the usual spares of crap.
I'm excited about Tellico.

Gundy if your gonna do some wrenching head to my garage and figure out why my pig wont run. I'd take that as a sign that I was meant to go to Tellico.

David if you need some help let me know....... I have the afternoons off and would be more than happy to help.

Richard, so if I get you 55 running you will take it to Tellico??? shouldn't be that hard...........

You misconstrew my words JP I said I would take it as a sign I was meant to go to Tellico. I didnt say anything about the pig going. Although watching Extreme 4x4 wheeling their heeps at Tellico makes me want to go pretty bad.

swicheroo

Done! We have hot water and no leaks in the 40.
Hot showers are nice. :)
System test tomorrow.
Did my summer heater bypass while I was at the
coolant stuff.
Tailpipe end won't work. I'll have to hit a muffler shop.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr......I hate having strangers touch my truck.
I hope to get this done by Friday.
No greasin' 'cept on me. Grease in truck, later. Camping stuff...later.
I put a joiner piece on the 60's hose so it'll be a snap
to reinstall the heat exchanger when it gets repaired/replace.
I'm mailing that sucker off tomorrow.
Nice guy who makes them may replace. (crossing fingers)
I hope so. I promised "good press'.
Whew....I'm exhausted. I need an icon for a wild turkey on the rocks. ;)

Well done david...........guess you don't need any help ;)

I need help on soooooo many levels....it ain't funny! This task was so
simple even I of ten thumbs fame could do it. It was a 1 naner job
I didn't even have to remove my shoes. ;)
I'll holler when I'm in over my head.
Tellico.....tick, tock, tick toc.....

The 40 is at the muffler shop today. I adjusted the brakes.
Greasin' still on list. I touched up my sliders with rattle can paint.
Hehe...I like knowing where I skid. Just look for scrapped paint. ;)
Malph will be proud. I repainted my shovel and axe.
Winch checks out as does the compressor and air locker.
Tic toc tic toc

Man David, Gundy has got to be loving this, he's getting all kinds of attetion............ If you get board come on down to Clemson I need assemble my front end of the cruiser  of and fix a slight carb. problem.........

I can' wait for Tellico!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Winches

Got a chance yesterday and finally got together a 100 bucks for a fairlead ;)
and mounted my winch. So now I can get out of trouble at 10 feet a minute...more or less depending on how quick I want to meltdown. :D

That's good news!

Great Alan, I was counting on the Blue Man Truck to pull my chestnuts
from the fire this trip when the going gets tough. :)

The tailpipe is installed.
I noticed my tags expired in JULY! YIKES! They said my
sticker would be here in 3 or 4 days. Man, that's cutting it close.
Hehe....I swear I'll switch tags if they don't come through.

Doubt the patrol men would know the difference between a 40 and 60, it says landcruiser that is all the matters............ plus we will just throw you deep in the middle of the convoy, that is where we are going to hide Chuck, since his 40 is yet to be legal........:flipoff2:

Always glad to lend a hand although I know you hate body damage as much as I. One must reach through a few thorns... What do you think of WILD AND BLUE as a name?

Wild and Blue

Sounds good to me! Wild & Blue it is!
Man, the 60 blew a hose on the way to work this morning.
Steam machine!
I was able to snitch a bit from the shower lines to replace
the one from the stat which had split. Hehe...about
10 minutes. Filled her up and still made work before 9:00am.
Try that with some fancy smancy new fangled car. I would
have probably needed a custom hose and a tow.
Gawd I love Land Cruisers.

the prep continues

Played hookie from office this afternoon. :)
Went by Cline Company and had my new hot water pressure hoses
attached to the end fittings. SWEET! They did it in about
20 minutes as I waited. That is some snazzy hose now.
Those sucker won't swell or burst. That was always a problem with the R & N
hoses. Weak link. R & N even replaced them free. No need now...hehe....guaranteed!
Tic toc tic toc
Still need to grease all those zerks.
Packing starts tomorrow.

Tellico post script

Well....Gundy made it to Tellico spittin' and sputterin'
most of the way. It stayed in camp.
One new shower hose broke at the pump connection.
I had to slip some 1 inch hose over the hose and pump end
and secured it with a clamp. The floor my new pal Steve made
was perfect! We erected a blind with Marshall's tarp and
placed the water pickup where Chuck would eventually be
cooler rafting.
Gundy was running so poor coming into Murphy going home it would
barely pull away from a stop without high revs and much
feathering of the clutch. It looked like a tow home for sure.
Tad and I stopped at McDonalds and hooked up with Steve
and his crew there.
I popped the top of the air cleaner, loosed the screws
on my 38dgs choke and increased the choke. Tad noticed
that Gundy wasn't smoking even with ALL that sputtering.
HOLY COW BATMAN. On first adjustment it was like magic.
One  fix. I scratched rubber pulling out.
LOL... we maintained a 65 + cruise from there on out
as traffic permitted. It was fun running down traffic in the 40.
At one point I would back off on a J**p dangler thing who
was doing about 60 and then charge up at about 75mph.
Hehe.....I never passed but I'd do it on climbs when
that heep was slowing down. All in good fun and no tailgating.

Man , that F engine can be SWEET!

Tad and I had an uneventful trip home. I met a Ranger
from Oconee State Park when I gassed in Westminister.
His son has two 40s. One restored. I gave him a card.
Oconee State Park connections for the Club. Cool.
Anyhow, Gundy's home and better for the wear. It hasn't
run this strong in a while.
We both get a break now. :)
See ya'll at the annual meet.
