Well I have been looking at a lot of fj80's lately since I bought one a few months ago. It has super high miles but the body looks great. I scored it for the fair price of 1,200. Since then I have noticed that there are a plethera of idiots trying to get over 3 grand for absolute heap of s**t looking fj80's. Here is a link to a prime example

That's a FZJ80 if truly '97. What makes it so bad? Did you check it out? How many miles? Lockers?

yea that might be a good project base. Just monsta line it and get the bumpers you want. Could be the start of something good, albeit I would bargain them down a bit.

The kids call that look "murdered out". dunno why.

Bumper looks unforgivingly functional.

If it's in good shape mechanically it's a deal. Or at least you can talk them down to a good deal.

I paid over 3 grand for my '94 in 2012, fwiw, but proximity to moab increases the price. Needed minor maintenance. Yeah, a fair bit of minor maintenance. But now that I've done it, it runs like a top.

I also imagine the condition would vary greatly between an LC in Minnesota (driven in the winter time) vs one in Southern California that has no idea what salt is.

That FZJ doesn't look too bad in the picture, IMHO. My issue with the add at that price - is the lack of description or additional pictures. When I was combing CL for a LC here in the Mid-South, any running 80 series under 3 grand got snapped up fast. That rig could swing anywhere from 3K, to 4K plus, depending on mileage & condition. If it's got the magic dial - it would command quite a bit more.

If I were interested, I'd get more info from the seller, & go look at it. (And pray the Road Salt demons haven't ruined it.)

If it's locked, lower miles and the interior is good, that's actually a really good deal since it seems like the majority of prep work is done to the outside if you wanted to roll it.

Asking price and selling price are often different numbers. My LC was advertised at $4200. I paid $2700.

LandCruisers are like babies.:crybaby: None of them are ugly:slap:
