@NLXTACY - re: motor mount swaps:
2 other easy way(s) to lift the motor is a cherry picker to that pick loop / FR of motor.
We used this to do my BIL’s 3.4 T4R, wasn’t nearly the heavy of motor so tilting to either side with teh 1FZ may be different.
I’m going to try this method on mine over the Winter, see myself how well I like it.
That, or another piece I made based on a VW special tool is the box tube beam that has 2 verticals down to angle iron that rides each fender bolt-up flange.
Then you have greased ~5/8” all-thread about 18” lengths hanging vertically that you use a pass-thru ratchet wrench (or a box end standard if you want to get your cardio/ arm day all in 1 shot
)
—Mine’s around somewhere if you want a pic, unless you know the tool I’m talking of (common to the transverse FWD crowd, you can seperate a trans from a motor for clutch jobs, etc) - I used my overbuilt home-made one on the LX450 for this job & just kept the threads greased any time I was lifting.
Neither way involved unbolting the hood, a job I avoid.
